His Fairytale Romance but Not his Happily Ever After

Through thick and thin, Cannon, 41, still has love in his heart for his ex-wife Mariah Carey, 53. He described their marriage as a "fairytale" and said, "I will never have a love like I had with Mariah." During "The Hot Tee Talk" podcast earlier this week, he explained, "That's my fantasy love. That's somebody I will always love. I guess I'm a true believer in love." He went on to say, "It was literally like a fairytale with Mariah so I would rather it just be that way. I appreciate that fantasy because if I tried to go back and it wasn't the same, I'd be like, damn, I messed it up. But, if I had the opportunity, if it could be the way it was, I'm there."

Cannon and Carey got married in 2008, separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. The two are parents to 11-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan. Both Cannon and Carey have publicly moved on since their split. Carey has found love with her longtime boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, and Cannon is currently expecting his eighth child.

Life Continues for the Exes While They Coparent

While Cannon still has love and respect for Carey, he understands that she's found love again and respects that. "I truly respect the relationship that she's been in for quite some time and you know, dude is amazing with my kids and we've got family gatherings and things together so I truly respect him, Cannon explained.  "But come on, that's my fantasy love. That's somebody that I will always love."

And while she's found love, he's been busy being dad to many kids. Cannon has had six children with three women - Golden, 5, and Powerful Queen, 1, with model Brittany Bell, 1-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with DJ Abby De La Rosa, and son Zen, who died in December at 5 months old from a malignant brain tumor with model Alyssa Scott. He's about to welcome another baby to his family with model and real estate agent, Brie Tiesi.

More Kids in his Future?

When asked about a rumor that Cannon is planning to add three more babies to his family this year on the "Lip Service" podcast, Cannon replied, "I don't know, it could be." Sounds like maybe he's far from done trying to re-populate the planet. He recently defended his non-traditional family unit in a Men's Health interview stating, "It's not about what society deems is right. It's like, what makes it right for you? What brings your happiness? What allows you to have joy and how do you define family? We all define family in so many different ways."

Cannon has said in the past that none of his kids were "accidents." "I love my children. I love the people that I'm involved with. People even often ask, 'Are you gonna have more, you gonna stop?' I'm like, those are questions that I don't, I don't really even sit around and think about," he said. "I'm just walking in my purpose and trying to be the best father and best provider I could possibly be."
