The age of singer Diana Ross is causing controversy on "Jeopardy!" for the second time this year!

On Tuesday, the category was “A Number Between 1 and 100.” The clue read, “Your standard phonograph record until the 1950s, or the age Diana Ross turned in 2022.”

Contestant Jake Marvin wagered all his winnings on the Daily Double clue, but provided an incorrect answer of "What is 90?"

For the record: Diana Ross just turned 78 back in March!

"And AGAIN they think Diana Ross is 90!" another fan tweeted.

"I couldn't believe that guy said 90," another fan agreed.

However, that was far from the only gaffe on Tuesday night. Jake may have guessed that Diana Ross is 90 years old, but a user thought that former President Obama was the 38th President.

"I thought Jake was bad thinking Diana Ross is 90, but Suzy thought Obama was the 38th President?" one user tweeted.

For the record, the 38th President of the United States was Gerald Ford. Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States.

So What Happened Back In March?

In late March, the Final Jeopardy! category was “Singers.” The clue read: “In 2021 at age 95, this singer achieved a Guinness World Record for the oldest person to release an album of new material.”

Only Margaret provided a correct answer of “Who is Tony Bennett?”. Unfortunately, Finn and Karen both wrote down Diana Ross… who was only 77 at the time, not 95! Last year, Tony Bennett released “Love for Sale” in collaboration with Lady Gaga, which earned him the Guinness World Record.

Both “Jeopardy!” contestants took to social media to apologize to the former Supremes founder, who released a new album last year called “Thank You.” It should be noted that Ross has also won a Guinness World Records title in 1993 for “Most Successful Female Singer of All Time.”

Karen tweeted, “Deepest apologies to the iconic Diana Ross! I didn’t really think you were the answer, but was running out of time and had to put something! 😬😭.”

Finn also commented on the post to say, “Me too! I knew she was not nearly that old but better to write something than nothing. Just glad we’re in this together hahahaha.”

“At least y’all didn’t default to @DollyParton like I did playing along at home,” one fan pointed out.

“It was a fun episode to watch,” another fan wrote. “A close game & some pretty tough categories too in the previous rounds. Everyone did very well.”

Another fan pointed out that Ken’s “you’re seventy-five years younger than Tony Bennet” line was pretty funny.

“I was thinking Bob Dylan but I knew that could not have been it!!” another chimed in. “Knew he wasn’t that old either haha, that was a toughie!”

Fingers crossed that the "Jeopardy!" team will learn the lesson and stop asking questions about Diana Ross' age! Or, hopefully, they'll save it to the 2022 Tournament of Champions so fans can (hopefully!) finally get a correct answer!
