“Bridgerton” star Jonathan Bailey is lighting up social media with some beach snaps that he posted on the Fourth of July.
Although the British actor doesn’t celebrate the holiday, he still managed to capture the hearts of fans around the world in his role of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the popular Netflix series, “Bridgerton.”
In season two, Anthony got to find his own love match in Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), and the two shared plenty of steamy scenes on screen! Bailey doesn’t go quite that far on his Instagram account, but he did post a shirtless beach snap packed with plenty of humor on Monday!
‘Bridgerton’ Star Jonathan Bailey Is Having Some Fun In The Sun!
In the photo, the “Chewing Gum” actor can be seen jumping out of the water in nothing but a pair of blue striped swim trunks. If fans can get past his muscled physique, they’d notice it looks like he has rocket boots on as he leads out of the water.
“Superpower school,” he wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “Training up the next generation. ⚡️🦶💦 💖” He also shared that the photo was taken in Sussex, England.
Fans lit up the post with heart-eye emojis. “Glad, you’re having fun!! You deserve it! ❤️” one fan wrote.

It looks like the “Broadchurch” actor is having some fun in the sun while he still can because season 3 of “Bridgerton” is scheduled to start filming in London any day now!
Bailey Dropped Some Hints As To What Fans Can Expect In ‘Bridgerton’ Season
Back in April, Jonathan Bailey sat down with Harper’s Bazaar to talk about what’s ahead for Anthony and his new Viscountess in the show’s third season. Chris Van Dusen has stepped down as showrunner and Jess Brownell will be stepping up to put the love story between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) in the spotlight.
Although Anthony’s love story isn’t going to be the main focus of the season, being the Viscountess of the “Bridgerton” household, fans can still expect to see a lot of him and Kate in the third season. When asked about where their characters will be by the time the third season returns, Bailey revealed that seeing the new couple in “the honeymoon phase is essential.”
Although fans are eager to see Anthony and Kate getting along, Jonathan Bailey revealed that Kate’s “gonna have a shock” when she finds out all the new responsibilities she’ll have to take on as his Viscountess.
“She’s had a lot of responsibility within her family, but she knows nothing [about how] to head up the Bridgerton family,” he explained. “She is now gonna be the viscountess, so that’s gonna be an interesting balance between her taking over from Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell).”
There are also elements of Kate’s backstory that were explored in the books, but not in the show. For example, the couple bonds over Kate’s fear of thunderstorms in the book series by Julia Quinn; however, in the Netflix series, Kate seems afraid of thunderstorms but it is never explained why.
“And there’s a lot, still, in the books that I know will be stitched into their relationship going forward—about her past, about their shared grief and sense of mortality,” Bailey added. “But then, my God, for them to have their firstborn, Edmund, is gonna be incredibly moving, especially because both of their relationships with their parents have been so complicated. I think they’ll really come together to be incredible, loving parents, and that’s gonna be joyful to see.”
