How she doin’???
Wendy Williams is doing pretty good!
The former “Wendy Williams Show” host is switching gears following the end of her iconic daytime talk show.
She’s going back to her roots behind a microphone; however, she’s not returning to radio.
Wendy Ditches TV To Start New Career Venture
Rather, Wendy is becoming a podcaster and she’s bringing with her an iconic set piece from her TV show.
The ICONIC purple chair from the set of her talk show will not become a piece of garbage. Wendy is bringing the chair to her podcast.
Her manager Will Selby was sure to grab the chair and handle with care as it will serve as her seat while she’s podcasting.
Selby will serve as executive producer of the podcast.
Wendy's Becoming A Podcaster!
“That was [Wendy’s] and it signifies the old chapter closing as we start the new one,” Selby told The Sun. “We are going to take it and that will be part of her new show.”
Earlier this month, we reported the purple chair along with other memorabilia were going to be thrown out.
The Sun revealed that several set pieces and memorabilia will get canned.
“The wigs are still there since she didn’t come and get them so they’re being thrown out,” a source close to production told the outlet. "The chair is just going to be thrown out. Production is not even bothering to try to donate the chair to a museum- like ‘The View’ did with their original table after 10 years. They gave it to The Smithsonian."
Thankfully, the other memorabilia from her show was salvaged!
Wendy's Purple Chair Saved From Becoming Garbage
“We took it from the show. When they announced the show was over, I said to Wendy, ‘Let’s go get your stuff,’” Selby said. “I thought, ’Why should it stay there? So people can sell it on eBay?’ There were some things I felt were iconic.”
TMZ recently reported that Selby has already spoken to Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe and the Kardashians about being potential guests on her podcast.
It’s also been reported that he reached out to a member of Donald Trump’s family, but the particular family member has not been revealed.
She’s still in the planning stages when it comes to what the podcast will be about and topics of discussion.
Wendy appeared on TMZ Live on Tuesday, June 28, to talk about her new career venture.
Wendy's Retired From Her TV Show
“When you’re famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing The Wendy Williams Show,” she said while sitting in her purple chair.
She also made it very clear that she is retired from the grind of her daily TV show.
Wendy also opened up about her ongoing medical struggles. She revealed she suffers from lymphedema and showed off her extremely swollen foot.
Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid in soft body tissues when the lymph system is damaged or blocked according to cancer.gov.
Wendy explained that she can only feel “maybe five percent of my feet.”
