Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Celebrate Their 16th Wedding Anniversary With Gorgeous Pic

It's not hard to see that Hollywood star Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban are deeply in love. Since their first meeting in 2005 and marriage a year later, their love has grown by leaps and bounds.

As fans know, Kidman tends to be very open and honest about her adoration for her husband, sharing pictures of both of them on red carpet events while adding swoon-worthy captions such as "My Forever Valentine." 

However, it'd appear that there was one picture she hadn't shared on the internet. This she did while celebrating their wedding anniversary on Sunday.

The pair tied the nuptial knot in 2006 and celebrated their 16th anniversary with two romantic Instagram posts. Urban uploaded a picture of him and the actress standing together and smiling.

"HAPPY SWEET 16 BABY xxxxx," he captioned the photo.

Kidman, on the other hand, posted a beautiful picture of both of them lighting a candle during their 2006 wedding ceremony in a church in Manly, Australia.

"Sweet XVI. Remember this like it was yesterday," the "Big Little Lies" star captioned the beautiful picture, which featured her in a one-shoulder Balenciaga wedding dress.

Sitting by Urban's side, she looked beautiful as she rocked a bridal veil and strawberry blonde hair. Urban looked dapper as he donned a black suit with a lapel, a white rose, and a white shirt.

The picture garnered over a hundred thousand likes and almost a thousand comments from fans and colleagues alike, congratulating her on her 16th wedding anniversary and wishing her many more years ahead.

Since they tied the knot 16 years ago, they've welcomed two daughters, Sunday and Faith. Kidman is also mom to Isabella and Connor, whom she adopted and shares with her former husband, Tom Cruise.

In his appearance on an episode of "The Big Talk Show," the country star insisted that his relationship with his wife was "as normal as you can get."

"We're just a couple who work things out, go through things together, life, and support each other the best way we can and try and raise our family," Urban explained.

He continued, "Underneath it all, we're as normal as you can get, I reckon."

He also recalled the first time they met, adding the thought that the actress was out of his league.

"She seemed well out of my league at that time in my life," he added. "I was not in a great place in my life, struggling with a lot of things. Not in a million years would someone like that see anything in me. The fact that became what it is meant to be is astounding."

On the same podcast, Urban described his wife as "ethereal, angelic, other worldly, very mystical and then completely down to earth simultaneously and very funny."

Kidman was also full of glowing words for her husband. In her interview with Today, she mentioned that while they appeared to be perfect, they weren't a "role model couple."

"We don't want to be a pin-up couple. We just want to be a couple that has a great life together."

Kidman added that their marriage shouldn't be considered the prototype or standard as every relationship is different.

"Everyone has the right to their own relationship. We are just very protective of our little bubble. What works for us is what works for us," she concluded. 

While speaking with The Sunday Times, the singer admitted that his wife's encouragement went a long way in helping him fight against his alcoholism.

"My dad was an alcoholic, so I grew up in an alcoholic house, and it took me a long time to believe I was wired the same," Urban added. "I had to find a different way to be in the world. I'm glad it didn't change anything about my music. I wrote plenty of hit songs while drunk. I wrote plenty sober. I feel lucky it hasn't defined my creativity."

To express his gratitude, he wrote a song in her honor, "Thank You," which detailed all the lengths she went to help him get back on track.

The pair celebrated their anniversary a month after Kidman made a surprise appearance at Urban's concert in Las Vegas.

As reported by The Blast, Urban posted the moment on his Instagram the next day. The clip showed Urban kissing Kidman before asking her for her name and hometown.

"What's your name?" Keith playfully asked her at the time. "Where are you from?"

The actress sweetly responded, "Nicole Urban."

Kidman also added her reason for coming onto the stage. She said "I wanna get your jacket, you put it on the floor.”  To which Urban responded saying, "She literally said, ‘Don’t lose that jacket,’ and I’m like, ‘How am I gonna lose the jacket?'”

The couple definitely have a sweet, genuine relationship and one we love to see wax stronger as the years go by.
