Olympian Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Beck, are still reeling from the devastating experience of losing their toddler in a drowning accident, and Tuesday was especially hard as they remembered her on what would have been their daughter's third birthday. Beck, who is currently pregnant with twins, took to social media to post a tribute to their late daughter, Emmy. The professional beach volleyball player shared two photos of their little girl on her Instagram story. In the first snap, she shared Emmy at birth with the caption, "Happy birthday baby girl."

In the second photo, Morgan Beck shared what appeared to be Emmy around the age of her death. Showing the tiny tot walking around wearing a pink dress and oversized bow, her mom paired the pic with a heartbreaking caption. "Today would have been your 3rd birthday. We miss you so much," she wrote. As The Blast reported, Bode Miller and Morgan Beck's daughter died in June 2018 after drowning in a neighbor's pool during a party at just 19 months old. When paramedics got to the scene they tried "advanced life support" but were unable to save their little girl.

Morgan opened up about their devastating loss the day after Emmy's passing. Showcasing an adorable photo of her wearing diapers and sporting a floral hat, she wrote, "We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten." She also asked for privacy "during this painful time."

One month later, Morgan Beck went back on social media and expressed feelings no parent should ever feel. "It’s been 37 days since I’ve held my baby girl. I pray to God no other parent feels this pain," she captioned the sweet shot of Emmy playing in snow. Addressing the issue of drowning, she encouraged everyone to get educated and spread awareness on the topic. Calling it "a silent killer," Morgan Beck issued a warning by stating, "It takes SECONDS. Please share and help us spread awareness. It’s the first step to preventing these types of tragedies."

The volleyball player has already welcomed a child since Emmy's passing as she was actually pregnant with her son when the death happened. She expressed the "guilt" and "fear" she felt about bringing a child into the world so close after the tragedy. Stating it was "the most confusing experience of my life," Morgan Beck explained, "The conflict of emotions from what was pure joy turned to guilt and terror overnight." She recalled asking herself if she could "love this baby the way I loved Emmy?" or even if that was okay. The birth of their son, Easton, was a turning point for Morgan and she credits him for helping her get closure. "Easton provided us an even closer bond to his sister. The moment I heard his cry, something sparked back alive in my soul. Hope. Love," she wrote. "I knew I was Mom and my kids deserved the world from me. Everything was going to be okay. My joy and grief could coexist."
