According to recent reports, actor Ezra Miller might no longer have a future in the DC extended universe. It is likely due to the numerous headlines that have trended recently about their several illegal actions, such as alleged assault.
Miller was set to return to screens as Barry Allen, aka superhero Flash, in “The Flash” movie on June 23rd, 2023. The film has experienced multiple delays due to Covid-19-related issues and creative disagreements. The movie’s cast includes Sasha Callie as Supergirl and Michael Keaton as Batman.
Miller has recently had several legal issues, including being arrested twice and getting into several fights. They have also disappeared from social media, leaving fans curious and worried about them.

Ezra Miller Has Had Several Scandals
Miller has recently been at the center of several troubling headlines for the past few months. Earlier in 2022, they were arrested twice while on vacation in Hawaii and charged with second-degree assault. Their arrest quickly went viral, with many people criticizing the actor for their violence.
More headlines quickly surfaced after the first, such as an incident where the parents of an 18-year-old filed a plea to a judge asking for an order of protection on behalf of their child against the actor. They claimed that the actor had acted weirdly towards their child and wanted distance between the two.
Not long after, news broke that another family in Massachuttes was granted a temporary restraining order against the “Fantastic Beasts” actor. The family claimed that Miller had acted in a menacing manner towards them and inappropriately toward their nonbinary child. After this, Miller mocked the police about their location and then deleted their Instagram account.
They Might No Longer Fit In Warner Bros
The premiere of “The Flash” is still over a year away, but Warner Bros has reportedly already begun talks about the future of the character and the franchise, and it may not be good news for Miller.
According to a recent report by Deadline, inside sources at the studio say the executives have tried to get professional help for Miller, but the actor refuses to get better. The controversial headlines keep piling up, which may mean that Miller does not fit into the work ethic and culture at Warner Bros and CEO David Zaslav’s ideas for the DCEU.
There is reportedly already the worry that Miller’s actions and legal charges might affect the performance of “The Flash” when it premieres. At this point, it is almost fair to say that the actor has a very bleak future in the DCEU.
Warner Bros. Is Making Changes

Warner Bros as a studio has been making a lot of big changes behind the scenes. They have placed a lot of emphases recently on revitalizing the DC brand and developing it to be on the same level as Marvel Studios.
In this regard, it has canceled some of its projects like the HBO Max film “Wonder Twins” and greenlighted a sequel to “Joker,” one of its biggest film successes from 2019. The sequel, titled “Joker: Folie à deux,” will reportedly be a musical starring Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
With Miller’s increasing negative publicity and recluse lifestyle, he is becoming a persona Warner Bros definitely doesn’t want its audiences to see when promotions start for “The Flash” and subsequent big-budget summer movies.
Ezra Miller Has Become Too Problematic For The DCEU
Warner Bros has made it clear that it will likely not recast Miller in “The Flash,” but with the increasing negativity surrounding the actor, the future of the ensure franchise may be affected. Nobody knows for sure until the studio makes an official announcement concerning the film.
If they do recast the actor for Barry Allen, the studio can reshoot the ending of “The Flash” and tie in the multiverse theory to explain the switch in actors. Another option is that the studio opts for a different flash other than Barry Allen, such as Bart Allen or Wally West.
The second option would let “The Flash” be a closing story for Miller’s role as the scarlet speedster, giving him some much-needed time and space to focus on his personal life and sort out his legal troubles.
