Splitting up with a lover is never easy, and even superstars have experienced their fair share of such emotional turmoil.
While many find it easy to get into the next relationship, others regrettably find it exceedingly difficult to move on, suffering emotional agony for months before they are able to return to the dating scene.
When she broke up with a former co-star, actress Rachel Bilson claimed that it was the hardest thing she could ever experience The 40-year-old recently detailed the story in one of her podcasts, describing the breakup period as one of the most painful moments of her life.
Rachel Bilson: 'I Could Not Leave My House'
In one of the recent episodes of her "Broad Ideas" podcast, Bilson opened up to her guest Mandy Moore about the emotional struggles she faced when she broke up with an anonymous ex at the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I could not leave my house, you know what I mean? I had nothing else to do but sit in it, and deal with it and feel it," she shared. "It was probably the hardest thing I've ever done, harder than childbirth."
Being isolated during the pandemic, a situation most humans around the world faced at the time, was already a burden for her. However, with the extra brunt of the pain of the breakup, Bilson's feelings went through the mill, of which she aptly described the period as "probably the hardest thing [she had] ever done, harder than childbirth."

At the time of the revelation, the O.C actress chose to keep the details about the ex under wraps for reasons best known to her. However, in her latest podcast with another guest Aubrey Plaza, Bilson would drop the tidbit that the ex in question was Bill Hader.
The trio had all starred in the 2013 film "The To Do List" which might have prompted Bilson to feel comfortable enough to share that detail. The actress is usually tight-lipped about her relationships, and her revelation, hence, gave Plaza a heavy shock.
"Are you serious?" Plaza screamed when Bilson revealed the secret. "I don't know s--t. I don't know anything."
"We dated," Rachel asserted. "I went with him to the f--king Golden Globes."
Timeline Of Bill Hader And Rachel Bilson's Relationship
The secretive celebrity pair sparked romance rumors in December 2019 after they were pictured someplace in the actor's birthplace of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The duo would reinforce those speculations by attending the 2020 Golden Globes together in January the next year. Still, after that, they were rarely seen out and about, although they remained together.
Months after their award show outing, the public got to know that the relationship had crashed. According to reports obtained by E! News at the time, Bilson was "absolutely devastated" by the split. Bilson would further confirm the trauma in her podcast, saying it "hurt like a motherf--ker," though she ultimately got over it after a while.
She claimed, "if you actually face it, you can come out of it and be like, 'OK, I did that, and I'm ready for the next thing.'"

Since her breakup with Hader, nothing is known about Bilson's love life, as she appears to have reverted to her prior style of remaining very private about such matters. She does, however, continue to co-parent her 7-year-old daughter Briar Rose, whom she shares with Hayden Christensen after their 10-year relationship ended in 2017.
Meanwhile, Hader is the father of three girls, Hannah, Harper, and Hayley, who he shares with Maggie Carey. The two divorced in 2018 before Hader started his affair with Bilson.
Now, the "Barry" star appears to have moved on from his split with the "Hart of Dixie" actress in 2020, as a different source told E! News in January that the actor was seeing "Pitch perfect" star Anna Kendrick.
