Music star and actress Lady Gaga might return to the big screen again. According to several reports, Gaga is in early talks to star in the music sequel to the hit movie "Joker." If the talks end favorably, Gaga will feature opposite Joaquin Phoenix, the very talented actor who portrayed Joker himself.

After rising to the top of the music industry, Gaga set out to dominate the film industry, and so far, she's doing an excellent job. There was a massively positive reaction to her performance in "A Star is Born" and "House of Gucci," and many fans are hopeful to see her in the "Joker" sequel. Read on to find out more.

As per Deadline, Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is currently talking with Warner Brothers regarding a possible role opposite Phoenix for the Joker sequel. Unfortunately, there isn't much information about what character she will play in the sequel.

Fans guess it is likely the role of Harley Quinn, Joker's former psychiatrist, who falls in love with him and turns her life upside down to become his criminal partner. It is also not yet sure if the film will use other DC characters or just pick and use specifics, like Harley Quinn.

If fans are right, 36-year-old Gaga will play the role of Quinn. So, what about Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. Well, Just Like Phoenix's Joker, Gaga's Quinn would exist in a totally different DC Universe from Robbie's.

Joaquin Phoenix Is Yet To Sign Onto The 'Joker' Sequel

Last week, "Joker" director Todd Phillips revealed the title and script of the upcoming sequel on social media. The title is "Joker: Folie à deux," referring to a medical term for an identical mental disorder that affects multiple individuals, usually family members.

In the same social media post, 51-year-old Phillips also included a photo of Phoenix reading the film's script, despite the fact that the actor is yet to sign up officially for the role and film. Recent reports revealed that Warner Bros is yet to finalize a deal with Phoenix.

Phoenix already has a busy schedule, which intensified after the success of "Joker." He returns to screens again in 2023 as the French leader Napoleon in the historical drama film "Napoleon." It is produced by Ridley Scott and will depict Napoleon's rise to power in France.

The Film's Plot Is Still Unknown

Phillips has been writing the script for "Joker: Folie à deux" with co-writer Scott Silver for a while now, and reports say he has finally presented it to the studio. It is confirmed that the sequel will be very different from the first film, and Joker fans are excited to see how it will play out.

However, one fact about the film that is very surprising is that it will be a musical. This is very different from the first film, which had a lot of dialogue. Phoenix is also not known for his musical talents, but Gaga is. If the film is a musical, she is definitely the perfect fit to play Quinn.
