Derek Hough Chooses Forever, Gets Engaged To GF Hayley Erbert

Some people ring in the new year, but when it comes to Derek Hough, he rings in June.

The Dancing with the Stars alum is avoiding the seven-year itch as he has announced on his Instagram that his girlfriend of seven years is now his fiancé.

Along with a beautiful picture of the couple that shows them embraced and madly in love above a plethora of rose petals, he wrote on his Instagram, "It's only the beginning…the beginning of forever ♥️" Hayley Erbert also shared the great news on her Instagram and it looks like they are both over the moon with this news.

The future newlyweds have been vacationing in Monaco, taking in the Formula 1 Grand Prix and Top Gun: Maverick premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Hough has been in a joyous mood with Erbert as of late, mentioning how great their recent vacation time has actually been saying on Instagram, "Wow , incredible to experience @f1 Monaco Grand Prix for the first time. Even better getting to experience it with my love @hayley.erbert ❤️."

The couple who have been dating since 2015 after meeting on DWTS as Erbert herself was a dancer on the show have been going strong all along and it looks like with all the bliss the couple is going through, the photo from the announcement also shared a look at the massive and beautiful engagement ring, it looks like Hough chose for her and it looks like he chose wisely.

Now that the engagement has happened, the marriage is next and we have to think are kids that far behind?

While Hough appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show this past September he was quick to mention that the Covid-19 lockdown helped his relationship with Erbert as it brought them 'closer.' 'We grew as a couple tremendously. We even started a YouTube channel together, ' he then joked that he would take on marriage and consider kids if their channel hit half a million subscribers.

Their channel Dayley Life, hasn't reached the half a million plateau but it looks like Hough is moving forward anyways with Erbert and getting closer to marriage, and we would now have to assume kids might not be that far behind.

Hough has talked about having kids on many occasions but he also spoke with ET saying, "I am an uncle of, like, 20. I have so many nieces and nephews. So I love kids. I'm going to have kids one day. So for me seeing these parents here, to see their strength, to see their love for their kids, it's beautiful to be around."

So only time will tell but it seems Hough is looking forward to be a future father, but for the time being we willl let them enjoy being engaged and wish them only the best. Congratulations!
