Thomas Markle Was Rushed To The Hospital Due To Stroke

As The Blast previously reported, last Monday, news broke that Thomas was rushed to a hospital in Chula Vista, CA, around 9:30 PM after suffering a stroke.

He was photographed being taken off in an ambulance with an oxygen mask strapped across his face. A friend of Thomas revealed at the time the state of his health was known as no reports had been heard from the hospital.

Thomas' health scare happened weeks before he was to attend Queen Elizabeth's Jubille celebrations in June and as a result, he had to cancel.

Meghan didn't comment publicly on her father's health but her step-sister, Samantha Markle gave an update on Thomas' well-being saying, "My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest. Godspeed. We are praying. He just needs some rest."

Although Thomas still can't sleep, he seems to be doing better than initially. Per reports, the 77-year-old endured a serious fall in the days leading to his stroke, but was graciously saved by "some good people picked me up from the pavement."

The severe stroke resulted in a blood clot on the right side of Thomas' brain and he was kept in a critical-care ward all week while in the hospital.

Now that he is out of the hospital, Thomas is focused on regaining his speech which was severely affected by the stroke.

"I have lots of hard work to do and will do it. ‘I want to get well. I’m so lucky to have had amazing care and love. Thank you, everyone,'" wrote the father-of-three.

The retired television lighting director also sent his well-wishes to the Queen, writing, "I wanted to come to pay my respects to the Queen. I wish her a happy Jubilee and many more years."

Thomas will remain in the care of his son Thomas Jr., who assured, "I will be here for Dad and do whatever it takes to help him on his road to recovery. It’s been a terrible shock for everyone but Dad is a strong man and he is determined to get well."

Thomas jr., continued, "He’s already started working with a speech therapist and is making great progress. We’ve received hundreds of messages of support for him from people all over the world. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love for Dad."

Samantha Markle Accuses Meghan Of 'Elder Abuse'

//Samantha Markle

Amid Thomas' hospitalization, his eldest daughter Samantha pointed strongly accusing fingers at her half-sister who she claimed didn't reach out about their father's health.

She lamented, "No, no, and let me speak to something very important. My father has a huge heart and even though he was not in the wrong… she had a moral obligation, in my opinion, to step forward at any time. Two heart attacks. Everything she has now would not exist without my father.”

Samantha bashed the "Suits" alum for elder abuse, adding, "I feel there’s a negligence there. In my opinion, I feel like it’s, in my opinion, elder abuse, because she had to see what’s happening. There is no excuse for the disregard. There is no excuse for the callous observation of everything that he was going through and she wasn’t blind to it. She saw what was happening in the media, so I don’t understand how she could just do nothing."
