Aliana Mawla Addresses The Allegations Of Being The 'Other Woman' To Liam Payne After His Split From Maya Henry

Following Liam Payne and his ex-fiancée, Maya Henry's split, the "One Direction" member has since been seen in the company of another woman, Aliana Mawla. 

While the pair have neither confirmed nor denied their relationship status, there are rumors that they were already romantically involved.  There have also been rumors that they had begun their affair while Payne was with his ex-girlfriend, Maya Henry.

It appears that Mawla has had enough, as she recently addressed the issue and set the record straight in a statement obtained by E! News. Read on to learn more on what she had to say.

The 24-year-old spoke through her representative for the first time since the beginning of the fiasco.

She shared that she was taken aback by the allegations, which disclosed that she was responsible for the split between Henry and Payne.

"Aliana is very taken back by the accusations that have been made regarding a relationship with Liam while he was still engaged or involved with his ex-fiancée," her representative shared with E! News.

"Under no circumstances would Aliana have involved herself in a public relationship as such if there was any truth to the comments that have been made."

The statement concluded, "She is very protective of her personal life and has nothing more to say at the moment other than she is very happy and does not wish to discuss this situation moving forward."

Ten months after they announced their engagement, the singer and model recently revealed that they were no longer together.

The "One Direction" member shared this in the latest episode of Steven Bartlett's "The Diary of a CEO podcast," who asked him if he was single.

"I am indeed. I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people." 

He continued per E! News, "That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships, I feel at this point."

The former boyband member claimed to be bad at relationships and that "I just need to work on myself before putting myself on to somebody else. And I feel like that's where I got to in my last relationship."

According to Payne, he was no longer giving a good version of himself in the relationship, and that made him feel like he wasn't truly himself.

While he added that he gained a lot from the relationship and didn't feel so good about ending things, he admitted that it had to happen.

He also shared that it was the best decision for "both of them."

The pair first roused romantic rumors after being spotted at London Heathrow airport, holding hands.

"They looked every bit the happy new couple as they made their way through the airport," a source shared with E! News. "They were holding hands and giggling as they headed to their car. He looks incredibly happy!"

Days after being spotted at the airport, they made their relationship official with a sweet post on their Instagram platform.

The statement shared by Mawla came after Payne's ex, Henry, opened up about images of Payne who had his arms wrapped around a woman. After a fan page posted it and tagged Mawla, she was prompted to make a rebuttal.

"I love all of the fans so much but please stop sending me these pictures of my fiancé wrapped around another woman," she commented under the post. "This is not me and it's hard enough knowing this has happened without seeing it. Enough now."

Before his whirlwind romance with Henry, Payne was romantically involved with Cheryl Cole. The couple, who share a son Bear, split two years ago.

"Cheryl and I are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways," Payne disclosed on his Twitter at the time. "It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

Since their split, they have been amicable, and their co-parenting has been going on smoothly.

"Liam is a great dad. He's much softer than me," Cole shared with The Telegraph in April 2019. "But it is what it is, and I'm OK about it. When you have a baby, you are not consumed with just thinking about yourself. It's your responsibility to keep things settled and happy, so you make the best of everything. And we have."
