Fans haven’t seen the last of “The Masked Singer.”
Fox’s musical guessing game show continues to be a rating juggernaut for Fox, which is why they’ve decided to renew the show for an eighth season.
It’s not the only popular show slated to return in the 2022 – 2023 season. “Crime Scene Kitchen,” “Next Level Chef,” and several others are scheduled to return for a second season, as reported by Deadline.
‘The Masked Singer’ Is Heading Back For Season 8
It seems “The Masked Singer” hasn’t run out of celebrity guests to sing their hearts out in elaborate costumes on stage. It is expected that the regular panel of Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger will make a return. Nick Cannon is also expected to return as host.
Deadline reported that the show, which has been filmed in Los Angeles for the past seven seasons, might switch things up by moving to another location, such as Las Vegas.
This season, “The Masked Singer” has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Back in January, Deadline broke the news that Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani had been cast on the show before season 7 even aired. It was first reported that Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke had stormed off stage after his unmasking; it was later revealed that only Ken stormed off, and Robin went to check on his friend.
Deadline reported that the polarizing episode brought in a new rating low. Fortunately for fans, their viewership has rebounded. Season 7 will conclude tonight at 8 PM on Fox, where the final three contestants of the season will be unmasked.
During Deadline’s virtual Contenders event, executive producer Craig Plestis and judge Robin Thicke revealed that the cast and crew were already hard at work on the series’ eighth season.
“It’s a challenge to outdo ourselves and to come up with some things that are going to sparkle and get America excited,” he said. “I think there are some ideas that we’re playing with the network that is going to be super exciting and the first time that we ever see something.”

Please don't have it set up like the current season! Even just one big group again please! I feel like so many great singers have went home , and many not great ones were there for to long because of how it's all set up.

This season, the groups were broken down into three groups: The Good, The Bad, and The Cuddly. Only one finalist from each of the three rounds eventually made it to the final round of the competition.
While you’re at it, can someone write Ken some new material? Also appreciated not seeing quite as much of Jenny’s cleavage this season. I’m no prude, but it was scary last season, expecting to see way more than she intended.

Please bring back first impressions and and the wild cards! I feel like we missed out on a lot this season.
another request: no more double eliminations for awhile. It was SO unfair to some of the performers because there were three double unmaskings.— Lindsey Frum (@lindzzzfaith) May 16, 2022
