Judge Ken Jeong is extremely upset with the latest reveal on “The Masked Singer.”
As The Blast previously reported, a major controversial figure was cast as a performer on Fox’s “The Masked Singer” reality TV show. The musical guessing game competition features celebrities hiding their identities in elaborate outfits while singing their hearts out on stage.
A panel consisting of Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger have to try to place the voice to the correct celebrity identity with the help of clues provided along the way.
As Deadline first reported, a controversial guest caused Jeong and Robin Thicke to walk off stage.
Who Was The Controversial Guest On ‘The Masked Singer’?
The controversial guest was none other than former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has also served as former President Donald Trump’s legal attorney. After he was revealed as a contestant on the upcoming season 7, which has yet to air, Thicke and Jeong both stormed offset.
Judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger reportedly stayed behind to “banter” with Giuliani.
An inside source told People that only Jeong was upset, and Thicke merely left to check on his friend.
“Ken was super upset and indeed stormed out,” the source said. “Robin actually followed him because he and Ken are very close friends and he wanted to check on him. Robin didn’t storm out because of Giuliani.”
Another source said that Ken felt “disrespected” by having Giuliani cast in the show.
“Ken felt disrespected and was livid to see Rudy was under the mask which is why he walked off. There’s no way he could hide his feelings,” the insider claimed.
“Ken has been incredibly vocal about how the previous administration handled many things but especially COVID-19 and has found a lot of what they’ve said not only wrong but dangerous,” the insider explained. “To get someone who helped to spread misinformation and call into question the accuracy of our election and democracy to appear on his show was going to set him off.”

Fans of the show were also upset with the decision to have Rudy appear on the show, with some fans accusing Fox of trying to pull a PR stunt.
“Good for the judges who walked off,” comedian Jenny Johnson commented. “Rudy Giuliani is a melting bag [of] s—. It’s not clever or funny to have him as a contestant. It’s just gross.”
“WTF! Horrendous judgement on the part of the producers,” another fan wrote. “Brave to Jeong and Thicke for making the exact right move!”
“These ‘rehab the evil’ aspects of shows, ruins it for me,” another shared. “There are people who deserve to be on these shows, who haven’t tried to destroy democracy, haven’t corruptly obstructed the peaceful transfer of power. This is why we have to break up monopolized media.”
Not sure who thought it was a good idea to have the disgrace that is Rudy Giuliani on Masked Singer, but how fvckin out of touch is FOX network. The man is a criminal attached to a bigger criminal who tried to destroy our democracy. We are not all in Chump’s cult. #maskedsinger pic.twitter.com/J0uLfzThiO

“This better not be true that Rudy Giuliani was on #TheMaskedSinger,” another fan wrote. “I will be soooo upset at the show that I love.” Another fan replied, “I won’t be able to watch it anymore.”
Another commented, “Unlike when has-been Sarah Palin appeared, Rudy is part of active criminal investigations as a party to a conspiracy to overthrow the govt as well as illegal lobbying for foreign interests, and some producer at Fox thought it ok to put him on this show? Or is it a PR stunt?”
“It’s very inappropriate for Rudy Giuliani to be on tv after what he has done to this country,” said another. “I would like to know who made this decision?”
“The sheer number of people that were involved in meetings for months and signed off on this as a good idea makes my head spin,” another added.
