Actor Joe Alwyn has been dating Taylor Swift for a few years now.
The “Harriet” actor has been involved in some steamy scenes in the past, but his new role in the Hulu series “Conversations with Friends” has a lot of people talking… including Alwyn himself! He and co-star Alison Oliver recently sat down with Katie Krause of Extra! to dish on how the “All Too Well” singer feels about the scandalous series.
Taylor Swift Is A Fan Of Joe Alwyn’s Work!

Although Alwyn is involved in a lot of intimate scenes in his new Hulu series, the “Red” singer was totally fine with them!
“I mean she’s read the book and she loves the book so she knows it,” Alwyn said. “She just like couldn’t be a bigger fan of the project.”
Oliver revealed that they worked with an intimacy coordinator to film the steamy scenes together. “You go through like a lot of rehearsal and kind of in-depth conversations about the intimate scenes and kind of what story we’re trying to tell,” she explained. “Hopefully, each intimate scene feels different or there’s some kind of progression in their relationship.”
Alwyn added that he sees the show as “two things.” He said, “it’s obviously kind of becoming of age story for Frances, but it’s quite a modern, through a kind of modern love story.”
Joe Alwyn Deconstructs Romance For Hulu’s ‘Conversation With Friends’

Alwyn continued to talk about the show and explained what audiences could take away from it.
“I think it’s looking at the ways that we are able to love and find happiness and be in relationships,” Alwyn explained. “Outside of, kind of, set constructs, which perhaps we’re more used to kind of, simple friendships or relationships, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, whatever those conventionally mean, it’s asking the question of how we find love and happiness outside of those things, or can we, and if we can where does that leave those constructs?”

Oliver, who plays Frances, seemed to agree with Alwyn’s assertion, adding, “I think that kind of, like, just idea of presenting and you with this modern, like, love story or this kind of world that they’re in. People are having affairs and it’s not actually taboo to have an affair. People are open to having this kind of open dynamic, like that is the world that they’re living in and not that saying that it’s in any way to be, but just keeping those things open and seeing new ways of or just different ways of looking people.”
Alwyn also opened up about his character Nick, saying, “I think he is pretty fragile and sad, particularly the beginning. I think when you meet him at the beginning, he’s very enigmatic and unreadable to quite frustratingly, so it’s sometimes certainly for Frances, but I think it’s interesting how everyone or the other three have different responses to that.”

“For Melissa… his wife, that’s probably Nick, not kind of bucking up a bit for Bobby, that’s him being boring and for Frances, she’s both frustrated, but like really drawn to that because I think she recognizes something underneath,” he continued.
“It was interesting playing him because it’s only over time that those layers are kind of peeled back,” he explained. “You get to see where he was coming from and you get to see him also be brought back into the world a little bit in a happier way and kind of find those impulses that were otherwise asleep or kind of had died a little bit and that’s very much through Francis who gives him that life back.”
Are Joe Alwyn & Taylor Swift Engaged?

The notoriously private couple started dating in 2016 and have been managing to keep their six-year relationship out of the headlines. Earlier this year, there were rumors that the two had gotten engaged during a surprise trip to The Lakes district, which Taylor, 32, had written about in one of her songs.
When asked about the engagement rumors in a recent interview for WSJ. Magazine‘s May issue, the “Boy Erased” actor joked, “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins.”
He added that he “wouldn’t say” if he was really engaged to the “All Too Well” singer or not. He said, “I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
