The backbone of Samantha Jones' brash, fearless, and frank existence was absolutely the woman who brought her to life, Kim Cattrall.

Cattrall played the most adventurous member of the "Sex And The City" clique for the series' six seasons airing from 1998 until 2004 and the franchise's two theatrical films.

The franchise's almost magical ability to showcase tight friendships between women at an age where maintaining friendships can be universally difficult, was strongly affected by matters between certain cast members behind-the-scenes.

The actresses who brought Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, have long been rumored to have had long-standing tension while filming the series.

According to Elle, financial matters were rumored to have come between the cast, especially Cattrall and series lead Sarah Jessica Parker.

The actresses have had a long-documented feud, and have both spoken about one another in the press.

Cattrall and Parker's feud is still on-going, finding its way into the anticipated HBO reboot "And Just Like That."

Parker made her distaste for Cattrall known while discussing the reboot.

The Blast reported Parker had responded "I don't think I would [be okay with it], because I think there's just too much history of public feelings on her part that she's shared," when discussing Cattrall ever returning to the series.

One feeling Cattrall isn't concentrating on? Feeling nostalgia.

The 65-year-old actress has absolutely no interest in looking ahead to see how Samantha eventually fared on "And Just Like That."

Samantha's presence in the reboot had been limited to disappearing text dots on Carrie Bradshaw's iPhone.

Carrie had attempted to resurrect her friendship with Samantha in her grief following the death of Mr. Big.

Cattrall was frank when speaking to Variety.

"It's great wisdom to know when enough is enough. I also didn't want to compromise on what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear." she said, of knowing when to close the door on Samantha's future.

Since Samantha's absence had been so widely felt during "And Just Like That's" first season, it would be understandable for Cattrall to have been questioned about her signature character's future.

Well, according to Cattrall, she would have no idea how Samantha's storyline would unfold, because she had never been approached to star in the series.

"I was never asked to be part of the reboot," she went on to say while speaking to Variety.

"I made my feelings clear about a possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else- on social media," she added.

Cattrall maintained being asked about her feelings on the matter wouldn't have happened within the "And Just Like That" camp.

Cattrall said in an interview with Piers Morgan, "Nobody ever picks up the phone and tries to contact you and say, 'How you doing?' That would have been the best way to handle it. This is, it feels like, a toxic relationship," she concluded.

"And Just Like That" has been renewed for a second season, and will bring plenty more about the "Sex And The City" women and their relationships.

The series' executive producer of "And Just Like That" is more than ready to propel those relationships forward.

Michael Patrick King shared as per a statement announcing season two's renewal, "I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters-played by these powerful and amazing actors," via Glamour.
