Iggy Azalea threw a massive birthday bash for her sweet son Onyx Kelly who is fathered by her estranged ex Playboi Carti.
Azalea welcomed the adorable bundle of joy in April two years ago and honored his life with a celebration filled with his favorite dinosaur theme.
The “Songs That You Feel Powerful” musician took to her social media to give her followers an insight into the festivities.
Iggy Azalea Marks Onyx’s 2nd Birthday With Sweet Posts
On Tuesday, May 3, Azalea shared a carousel of photos from her son’s birthday party on Instagram. In one image, she smiled happily while kissing her son’s cheek as he blew out a candle.
The “End of An Era” rapper gave birth to Onyx on April 28, 2020, but explained that he was under the weather, so she could not mark the occasion. She wrote,
“Baby was sick last week, so today we had his party! Happy Birthday Onyx! ?? Being your mama is a joy, I love how kind you are to everyone, always sharing and always in good spirits… even when you’re sick, you still smile. I love youuuuu 🥰🥳💖.”
The “Fancy” rapper also shared a few videos of the celebrant on her Instagram Story, who appeared to be over the moon. He smiled widely and gushed to her that he had a fun time at his dinosaur-themed event.
The lavish bash featured a pool party with a balloon artist, slide, bounce castle, dinosaur piñata, and masks. Balloons littered the area while one spelled Onyx’s name and another formed his age 2.
A Doting Tattoo In Honor Of Her Son
Azalea’s love for her son inspired her to get a tattoo of his portrait towards the end of April. The Blast disclosed that she took fans into the process of bringing the design to life.
The “Digital Distortion” artist took to her Instagram page with two clips showing the new ink to her followers. One showed an image of the drawing, which represented her offspring as an angel.
“Onyx Orion” was written on a sash around the sketch’s midsection. The other video showed tattooist Lua Hills ready to create the new ink.

The ‘In My Defense’ Star Slams Playboi Carti’s Support Claims
Early last month, Azalea debunked Playboi Carti’s claims of financially supporting her and Onyx. The former couple began seeing each other in 2018. They split in 2019 due to cheating allegations against Carti.
The Blast disclosed that the mother-of-one, who has previously admitted to raising her son alone, reacted to her baby daddy’s interview with XXL Spring 2022 Issue where he claimed his son was part of his responsibilities.
The Shade Room shared screenshots of Azalea’s now-deleted responses to a part of the interview where the “Magnolia” soloist was asked how being a dad was. He replied,
I pay a lot of bills. I take care of a lot of people. I take care of my mom. I take care of my family. I take care of my baby mom [and] I take care of my son.
Azalea tweeted in reply, “Take care of me? Lmaooooo, let’s not get carried away now.” She continued to clarify that Carti’s interview was misleading to his fans.

The “Go Hard or Go Home” rapper explained that she was not on good terms with her baby daddy, talking less of him paying her bills. She continued,
Secondly, saying nice things for an interview sounds great, but in real life, he talks to me like a sl*t so badly I had to stop all direct contact.
Speaking of nice things, Carti called Azalea “the best mother in the world” and added that his son was too perfect. He also stated that he loves his ex-girlfriend.
Azalea believed the sweet words were “not reflective” of what her son’s father says in real life. She preferred to be left out of the feature instead of being dragged into the mix.
The “Sip It” rapper ended by noting that she would be putting the drama behind her because she did not want to be involved. She concluded, “let me log off. I’m a peaceful person, I promise.”
