Jana Kramer Officially Confirms Her Breakup With Ian Schinelli

"One Tree Hill" Jana Kramer is going through a split with her recent beau Ian Schinelli. In July last year, the actress and singer finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Mike Caussin, after six years of marriage and two children.

Kramer went public with the Navy SEAL reserve member in January 2022 after a mutual friend introduced the duo. She revealed that she and Schinelli were taking it slow, especially due to her previous "toxic" relationship.

In a recent cryptic Instagram story, Kramer raised eyebrows by talking about the importance of loving yourself as a single person before getting into a relationship. After much speculation due to the post, the country singer confirmed that she had called it quits with Schinelli.

Kramer is officially going through a breakup. The actress previously removed all photos of her boyfriend, Schinelli, from her Instagram, sparking rumors of their split. The duo also don't follow each other on Instagram anymore. She confirmed the breakup this Friday in an interview with Access.

The 38-year-old revealed that she was currently going through a breakup and dropped some breakup advice for people going through the same thing. "I mean, I'm kind of going through it [a breakup] right now," Kramer said.

She continued, "Yeah, you know, I think what I would say [for breakup advice] though is, your story isn't over. You're never going to be alone. It is not as bad as it seems in the moment." The country singer previously posted some benefits of being happy and single on her Instagram story.

Fans of the actress were first to spot her lack of pictures of her beau and her posts about being single. Her Friday Instagram story talked about the benefits of self-love and shed some light on growing as an individual before getting involved with someone else.

The post read, "If you're happy alone, you'll be happier together. There is no type of affection that can fill the void in a person who doesn't love themselves already. There is no independence in dependency. There is no personal security in attaching yourself to a secure person."

The rest of the post highlighted the importance of having a "healthy relationship" with yourself to ensure healthy decisions about other people. Another post read, "If you don't choose yourself, you'll never feel chosen by anyone else either."

Kramer and Schinelli met via Andrew East, a mutual friend, in October. In an interview with People early this year, the actress talked about her relationship and how she was still taking it step by step with the single dad.

She said, "It's going good, but it's very hard to be in a healthy relationship outside of a toxic relationship. I'm just trying to relearn things, and he's very patient." The now single mom also talked about how her children were still her main focus regardless of the relationship.

"My focus is my kids and myself and continuing to heal and grow," she said. The actress also expressed some reluctance in making the relationship overly public. She didn't post Schinelli at the beginning of their relationship because she didn't want the pressure of her previous relationship to follow them.

After six years with her ex-husband Caussin, Kramer announced their split via an emotional post on April 21. They have a son, Jace Joseph, and a daughter, Jolie Rae. While announcing the split, she wrote, "It's time. As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality."

Kramer continued, "I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and I have nothing else to give." The 38-year-old added that she didn't want to fight any longer and instead wanted to use this time to heal."

The divorce got finalized a few months later, and Kramer revealed that while she initially felt like a "failure," she was excited to continue her healing process. According to the court documents of the divorce, the actress cited "inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery" as the reason for the divorce.
