Actor Nicolas Cage is one of Hollywood's veteran actors whose filmography keeps getting padded with different genres of films. Despite now on the older side, the actor does not seem ready to slow his roll anytime soon.

While Cage is presently married to Riko Shibata, the actor recently recalled a strange act he pondered executing when he was still partnered with his third wife, Alice Kim. He recalled that at the time, he intended to buy a cave so he could get butt naked and engage in drunken reverie with her.

'I Hear There's A Cave For Sale'

Cage made his first television appearance in nearly 14 years on Wednesday's broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Hollywood actor revealed numerous personal details about himself that fans had never heard before on the show.

One of the tales he told was about how he once pondered buying a cave. He revealed that this occurred while shooting scenes for one of the "National Treasure" films, further adding that he dragged his costar, Diane Kruger, to the property's location.

When Cage arrived in the cave, he noticed it had a collection of dazzling stalactites and milky quartz that adorned its "crystalline walls. At first sight, the actor fell in love with its appearance and promptly divulged to Kruger his plans for the cave if he purchased it.

"I'd like to buy this and just go down to the bottom of the cave and get totally naked with my wife and drink in the bottom of the cave in the earth," the actor shared.

Nicolas Cage Said He Ended Up Not Buying The Cave

Cage did not share on the show whether he had called his then-wife Kim to tell her about the idea. In the end, it did not matter as the actor ended up not buying the cave.

"Needless to say, I didn't buy the cave," Cage confessed to Kimmel, adding that there were no bats in the cavern, dismissing reports that he had planned to buy it to imitate the fictional vigilante, Batman.

The 58-year-old went on to discuss other unusual things he has done in his life, revealing that he once possessed a two-headed snake that he bought for 80000 dollars after having dreamt about a two-headed eagle.

The snake was later donated to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans by Cage when it became quite a hassle to take care of every day.

Aside from the snake, the actor has also kept a crow, turtle, monitor lizard, cobra, and an octopus as pets and is now well-known for domesticating a diverse range of wild creatures.

Cage Once Wanted To Build A Movie Studio In Las Vegas

The actor presently resides in Las Vegas, claiming he had relocated their for tax purposes. He did, however, admit that he had grown to adore "Sin City," even employing it as the setting for two of his films, "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Honeymoon in Vegas," with the former earning him an Oscar for best actor.

Cage also added that his positive experiences in Las Vegas prompted him to lobby to build his own movie studio. However, things did not go as planned, much like the cave he hoped to buy.

"I tried to get a movie studio built there and then Elon Musk came in, and all the money I got for the movie studio — I got $80 million — they put into the Tesla corporation, which then ironically drained all of the water out of the city" he recounted to Kimmel. "But I almost got it, I almost got a movie studio."

Cage is now touring in support of his latest film, "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," in which he portrayed a fictionalized version of himself. The movie, which recently hit theaters, has been deemed "watchable" by critics.

Cage's character in the movie is approached with a $1 million offer to attend a dangerous superfan's birthday party - played by Javi Gutierrez (Pedro Pascal). He gets subsequently recruited by CIA operative Vivian (Tiffany Haddish), who is on a quest to bring down Gutierrez. Cage is forced to live up to his own fame, channeling his most famous and revered on-screen personas to save himself and his loved ones from danger.

The Tom Gormican-directed film additionally featured Sharon Horgan, Paco Leon, Neil Patrick Harris, Lily Mo Sheen, and Demi Moore. It premiered in theaters on April 22, 2022.
