The ‘Kardashians’ Are Back: Highlights From Episode One

The long drought is over!

The unofficial first family of reality television is officially back. The Kardashian and Jenner families are ready to show the world who they REALLY are in their highly anticipated Hulu series “The Kardashians.”

We last saw our favorite family on camera in June of last year, when the legendary “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” ended its 20-season run.

Even though it hasn’t been a full year since the series finale aired, ten months in the ‘KarJenner’ world can seem like a lifetime!

The ‘KarJenner’ family is highly aware of how much time it’s been since they have had cameras following their every move.

They are determined to let their devoted following know their Hulu series is different from “Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

Everyone is seemingly devoted to the idea of showcasing not only their perspective growth but how much their family dynamic has improved for the better since cameras stopped rolling.

Episode one of "Kardashians" dropped on April 14th, and so are everyone's nerves!

Multiple members of the 'KarJenner' family express how they are feeling about returning to life as they had always known it with cameras following their every move.

Any bit of hesitation seemed not to be on display at all from the moment the opening sequence begins.

We are immediately transported back into the 'KarJenner' world with a fast-paced tour through the family's respective houses.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian play outside with their kiddos, and we get to see the legendary "momager" Kris at work, plus Kylie handling the bustling environment of her cosmetics company!

Despite the fast-paced nature of the opening sequence, catching and 'keeping up' with reality TV's golden family takes no time!

It almost goes without saying every member of the 'KarJenner' family has been on a respective rollercoaster throughout the last ten months.

These reality TV titans and entrepreneurs know exactly what fans have been itching to see: The array of headlines come to life.

Those following Kourtney's budding romance with, and eventual engagement to long-time friend Travis Barker are immediately in for a treat; Barker is seen in the opening sequence living life and perfectly fitting in as a member of the family!

Of course some of the elements that made following the 'KarJenner' family so endearing over the years on 'Keeping Up' are brought back for the new series!

Kim states she thinks it's "Fun to start with a clean slate" on the new series, and she certainly seems to carry herself with an incredibly strong sense of confidence in the series' goal to showcase both the growth her family has undergone over the last ten months, and to portray the resilience she is able to keep, despite being swept up in a constant media storm.

The mom of four also admits she "hates talking about" herself, and the focus of her narrative reflects her wish not to spend a long time focusing on herself, instead it concentrates largely on her life parenting her kiddos she shares with Kanye West.

Kardashian is seen playing with her kids, and indulging in moments of normalcy, (well, as normal as being one of the most well-known faces in the world can be!), joking that she is "Vegan 98% of the time."

Not every moment of Kardashian's life late last year was perfect.

The episode focuses on Kardashian discovering an ad via son Saint's Roblox game, promising brand-new footage of THAT tape she made with Ray J two decades ago.

Momma bear instantly springs into action, taking her aspiring lawyer skills, and doing what she can to squash the issue ASAP.

Kardashian does NOT have time to focus on this newfound-but-not-so-much nuisance in her life.

She is also preoccupied with her upcoming gig hosting "Saturday Night Live."

Stakes are high- she is convinced she isn't funny, and a fellow celebrity had spoken out on Twitter about having her host the show.

We also learn her then-friend Pete Davidson teased her about her nerves, asking if she "Could read cue cards" which seems to be the key for her success!

West is not featured in the first episode, and even though we see Kardashian on the phone with him at one point, we're not able to hear his side of the call.

Kardashian talks about her estranged husband throughout the episode, effectively painting a picture of their life as co-parents.

Her sisters also speak kindly about West whenever he is mentioned.

Kindness seems to be one of the episode's key themes. Khloé is seen peacefully navigating post-breakup life with Tristan Thompson, and everyone is also careful to keep Kourtney's ex Scott Disick in mind.
