Sam Asghari Says He Was Ready For A Baby With Britney Spears 'Years Ago'

It seems Sam Asghari was ready to be a father “years ago.”

On Monday, April 11, fiancée Britney Spears opened up about her new pregnancy. This will be her third child and the Iranian model’s first.

In an interview with BBC Persian before Britney’s big reveal, Sam said that he was ready to be a father “three years ago.”

In June 2021, Britney told a Los Angeles judge that she wanted to have a baby with her then-boyfriend, but that she was forced to be on birth control during her stifling 13-year conservatorship. “I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” she said at the time. “I was told right now under the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby.”

A judge terminated the conservatorship in November 2021, which meant that she was able to control whether or not she was on birth control. Sam had popped the questions two months earlier in 2021 after five years of dating. The two had met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and started dating shortly after.

In the BBC Persian interview, Sam said, “Yeah, I mean, this should have happened three years ago, to be honest with you.” He continued, “When you’re in a relationship with someone that you’re truly in love with, you want to recreate. And this is something that I want to do.”

Sam also opened up about the support that Britney received following the end of her conservatorship. “I can only speak on my reaction and it was phenomenal to see how everybody was so supportive and the whole world was engaged in it in a sense,” he told the outlet.

“I think people relate and it kind of unites people in a way, you know, as far as all these divisions that we have going on and not only in this country but globally,” he continued. “But I think people also like to unite in a way.”

On Monday night, only a few hours after Britney announced the news to her fans, Sam took to Instagram to let his own followers know how excited he was to be a father.

In the caption, he wrote, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do?”

His post came only hours after Britney disclosed her pregnancy with her Instagram followers.

Britney began her post by confusing her fans with a mention of a food baby, causing some confusion as to whether or not she was really pregnant.

“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ …” Britney explained in the caption of the post. “I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???’” Although Sam told her that it was probably just a food baby, Britney decided to take a pregnancy test, just to be sure.

“So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby ?? …” Britney revealed. “4 days later I got a little more food pregnant ????? It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it ??????”

Britney also revealed that she won't be stepping out as much to hide her growing baby bump from the paparazzi.

“I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money ? shot of me ? like they unfortunately already have …” she wrote in the caption.

She also opened up about her struggle with perinatal depressing, writing, “It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible ?”

“Women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her …” Britney continued. “But now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret ? ??? … This time I will be doing yoga ?‍♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love ? !!!”
