Sam Asghari Breaks His Silence On Britney Spears' Pregnancy

On Monday night, Sam Asgharifinally responded to Britney Spears’ pregnancy.

Earlier in the day, the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer confused fans when she seemed to indicate that she was pregnant on Instagram. Although some fans thought that Britney might have been joking around about her “food baby,” the Iranian model confirmed the news himself.

On Monday night, only a few hours after Britney announced the news to her Instagram followers, Sam took to Instagram to share the news. He posted a watercolor picture of a male and female lion nuzzling their young cub.

In the caption, he wrote, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do?”

Many fans were quick to once again offer their congratulations on their new baby. The two met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. They started dating that same year and became engaged about five years later in September 2021.

This will be Sam’s first child. Britney was married to her ex-husband Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. Together, they had two boys: Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15. Many fans noted that Britney has mentioned several times in the past that she always wanted to have a daughter.

In June 2021, Britney told a Los Angeles judge that she wanted to have a baby with Sam Asghari, but that she was forced to be on birth control during her stifling 13-year conservatorship. “I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” she said at the time. “I was told right now under the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby.”

A judge terminated the conservatorship in November 2021, which meant that Britney was finally free to get married and have a child.

There has been some confusion over whether or not Sam Asghari and Britney Spears are actually married, given that she keeps calling him her husband. However, she revealed last week that they are not actually married. She hinted that she keeps calling him her husband as a way to throw a little shade at sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

After explaining that they were on a vacation due to a recommendation from her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, Britney wrote, “Trust me I know the beauty in where I am and it’s much appreciated … so here’s me shooting pics of my HUSBAND ? !!!!”

“I have to do big letters cause that what my sister has always done on her gram …” she added. “Anyways it’s so mind opening being in a resort where there is no paparazzi … for the first time in my life … I can actually be that girl who can act stuck up and talk to others about how I’m getting married … out at dinners ?????!!!!”

Since Britney is still talking about getting married, it looks like she isn’t married yet. Since she just dropped the announcement today, it’s unclear if Britney plans on getting married before or after she welcomes her new bundle of joy. In her Instagram pregnancy announcement, Britney didn’t say when she was due or how far along she was.

Britney began her post by revealing that her pregnancy was behind the cause of her recent weight gain that she's mentioned in previous Instagram posts.

“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ …” Britney explained in the caption of the post. “I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???’” Although Sam told her that it was probably just a food baby, Britney decided to take a pregnancy test, just to be sure.

“So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby ?? …” Britney revealed. “4 days later I got a little more food pregnant ????? It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it ??????”

Britney also revealed that she won't be stepping out as much to hide her growing baby bump from the paparazzi.

“I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money ? shot of me ? like they unfortunately already have …” she wrote in the caption.

She also opened up about her struggle with perinatal depressing, writing, “It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible ?”

“Women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her …” Britney continued. “But now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret ? ??? … This time I will be doing yoga ?‍♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love ? !!!”
