Singer Aaron Carter is sporting some new face ink.

The singer, 34, showed off his four new tattoos in a series of Instagram posts over the weekend, the most noticeable of which is a giant blue butterfly tattoo. The “I Want Candy” singer said the butterfly was meant to honor his sister, Leslie Carter, who died at the age of 25 from a drug overdose in 2012.

On January 31, 2012, Leslie was found unresponsive in her father’s home in Mayville, New York. She was taken to a local hospital where she was announced dead upon arrival. Officials reported that she had died from an overdose after taking prescription medications such as olanzapine, Xanax, and the muscle relaxer Cyclobenzaprine.

The news was especially hard for Aaron, who had offered to pay for her substance abuse treatment only days before her death.

“I wasn't really making that much money. Fortunately, I had just hit my bonus. I got $10,000 the week before Leslie died, and I actually had reached out to her two weeks before that and said, 'I'm going to get you the money to go to rehab,'” he told Oprah Winfrey at the time. “She wanted it.”

As The Blast previously reported, his ex and the mother of his newborn son, Melanie Martin, has filed a restraining order in Los Angeles courts claiming that the couple got into a nasty fight on February 21, where Carter allegedly “punched” her on the left side, which caused three broken ribs.

Martin documented the encounter in the court documents, writing, “We had a fight about me talking to another man while we were broken up. He punched me in the left rib and pushed me. I didn’t feel the pain until a few days later, then I left the house because he threaten to give me a restraining order.”

She also attached medical records to the court filing, which seemed to confirm the existence of at least one broken rib, with medical recommendations on how to treat it.

Shortly afterward, she alleged that Carter threw both her and her infant son out of their Los Angeles home where they lived together.

“He tried to threaten me with a fake allegation if I didn’t leave after, and all my things were still at the house, and my baby as well. So, we were thrown out on the streets, had to stay at a friend’s and file this report after the doctor’s visit,” she wrote.

“DCFS is recommending to remove this child if he is in the hands of the father,” Martin continued. Adding “I will be with the child, not the father until the court decides with to do with legalities. I think he needs to go to anger management asap.”
