Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away suddenly on Friday night. No cause of death was disclosed. He was 50 years old.

The band announced the news on Twitter, saying, “The Foo Fighters family Is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote in a brief statement. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Fans in Paraguay are now remembering when the kind-hearted musician came out to greet them outside his hotel.

Fans Share Chance Encounter With Taylor Hawkins Outside Of Hotel

The fan captioned the video, “Two days ago....the only Foo Fighter guy who came out and greet their fans here in Paraguay. Now is foverer gone. RIP Taylor Hawkins.”

Although it’s difficult to hear what Hawkins was saying over the shouting of fans, Hawkins can be heard repeatedly saying, “We love you guys” and telling them that the band had to be off to their next gig.

“Thank you for sharing this perspective,” one fan shared. “I've seen Foos 8 times, 9th coming in Toronto this summer. I'm heartbroken like so many. But I am worried about the boys in the bad, especially Dave. I cannot even begin to imagine the loss.”

“You know you’re a bad--- when you can rock a fanny pack,” another user joked.

They weren't the only fans who were mourning the loss of Taylor Hawkins. Plenty of musical greats in the industry were also fans of Hawkins' music and took to social media to express their condolences.

Ringo Starr commented, “God bless Taylor peace and love to all his family and the band peace and love. ?✌️?❤️??☮️”

Axl Rose tweeted, “Shocked n’ saddened to hear of the passing of Taylor Hawkins.He was a really great guy, drummer n’ family man. Was always great to see him!Was looking forward to seeing him n’ everyone in Daytona.Truly saddened. My deepest condolences to his family, the Foo Fighters n’their fans.”

Ozzy Osbourne tweeted, “. @TaylorHawkins was truly a great person and an amazing musician. My heart, my love and my condolences go out to his wife, his children, his family, his band and his fans. See you on the other side – Ozzy”
