Cassie Randolph first appeared on tv in 2019 during season 23 of the “Bachelor” tv show. That season starred former professional football player, Colton Underwood. The 26-year-old emerged as the winner that year, and the two started officially dating after.
Their public relationship had a similar public end. The couple called it quits in 2020, after which Randolph filed a restraining order against Underwood. The tv-personality accused Underwood of putting a tracker in her car and stalking her.
Post their breakup, Underwood publicly came out of the closet on national television. The news was apparently as shocking to Randolph as the rest of the world. In a recent interview, the tv personality revealed that she was “shocked” when she found out and had no idea before it was made public.
Colton Underwood Came Out As Gay On National Television
Randolph made her first tv appearance in years with a cameo on the season finale of Clayton Edward’s “Bachelor” early this month. On Tuesday, she made another appearance in an episode of Kaitlyn Bristowe's Podcast, “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe,” talking about some of her previous relationships.
Randolph and her ex-boyfriend, Underwood, met on season 23 of the “Bachelor” set and proceeded to date for two years before calling in quits in 2020. The breakup was messy, to say the least, with Randolph throwing a restraining order in the mix.
About a year after the breakup, Underwood shocked the world and apparently his ex by coming out as gay on national television. The actor announced it in an episode of “Good Morning America.”
Cassie Randolph Said The News Was ‘Shocking’ And ‘Horrible’
In her podcast appearance, Randolph revealed that she was pretty much in the same boat as everyone else when her ex-boyfriend made the announcement. She admitted that she had no prior knowledge about it, and it was “horrible” and “shocking” news to her.
The 26-year-old said, “I found out the same way that everyone else did. I was actually in Mexico on vacation with friends, which was great to be away, but yeah, I found out through Snapchat on ‘GMA.’ It was horrible. It was just a shocking kind of thing.”
During the interview, the speech pathologist mentioned her recent appearance in the finale of the “Bachelor” and people’s reaction to it. She said, “I feel like people were so shocked that I was on. I would love to know why people thought it was such a big deal.”
Randolph Got A Restraining Order Against Underwood
After their breakup in 2020, Randolph filed a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. According to her, the 30-year-old placed a tracking device on her vehicle and continuously harassed and stalked her. She also accused Underwood of showing up at her parent’s property uninvited.
The restraining order was granted and eventually extended because the 26-year-old said Underwood was still trying to track her. The court documents revealed texts sent by an anonymous number which Randolph claimed to be Underwood.
The text messages showed the 30-year-old calling Randolph “a selfish person who isn’t ready to be loved” adding that the tv personality was “shady.” Some months later, the two eventually reached a private agreement, and Randolph dropped the restraining order.
Underwood Said He was Blackmailed
In an interview with Variety, the tv personality revealed that his decision to come out of the closet was out of fear for his situation at that time. He said, “I’ll just say it. I, at one point, during my rock bottom and spiral, was getting blackmailed. Nobody knows I was blackmailed.”
According to the 30-year-old, sometime in 2020, he discreetly visited a popular spa in Los Angeles for attending to gay clients. Not long after the visit, Underwood got an email from an unknown source, claiming that his nude pictures at the spa were captured.
Underwood maintained that it was his first time visiting the famed spa, and he went there “just to look” and regretted the move. The pictures in question were never seen by the tv personality while being threatened by exposure to the press.
