After four failed marriages, actor Nicolas Cage has finally found "the one." He tied the nuptial knot with his 27-year-old Riko Shibata at the Wynn Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. Their wedding was slated for February 16, 2021, to honor the birthday of the actors late father.

"It's true, and we are very happy," he confirmed the news in a statement to People.

Although he admitted that five marriages were a lot, he feels that he had gotten it right with Shibata. He also added that his wife was on the top of his list of favorite things.

The pair, who share a 30-year age difference, met in Japan in 2020 while Cage filmed "Prisoners Of The Ghostland."

Although they were quiet about their relationship, they were later seen publicly for the first time while visiting Cage's nine-foot-tall pyramid tombstone located in New Orleans.

The pair spent several months apart due to the covid pandemic at the beginning of their relationship.

"She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven't seen her for six months," Cage explained to his brother Marc Coppola on his radio show.

Although they were far apart, Cage still went on to propose over facetime.

"We're really happy together and we're really excited to spend that time together, so I finally just said, 'Look, I wanna marry you,' and we got engaged on FaceTime," Cage said.

"I got her a black diamond engagement ring. Her favorite color is black, so she wanted the black gold and the black diamond," he continued. "I customized and personalized it, and I actually sent it to her [via] FedEx."

The Pair Are Expecting A Baby

At the end of January 2022, it was announced that the "Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" actor was expecting a child with his wife, Shibata.

This will be Cage's third child as he was already Father to sons Weston and Kal-El, both from previous relationships.

In his GQ interview, he revealed that he and his wife already have possible names picked out for the baby.

"If it's a boy, he'll be Akira Francesco, and if it's a girl, she'll be Lennon Augie. Augie was my father's nickname, and my uncle [director Francis Ford Coppola] has decided to change his name to Francesco."

As they looked at the two-month ultrasound of the baby, Nicolas gushed, "I think it's so sweet. It's like a little edamame. A little bean."

"The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent," directed by Tom Gormican, features Cage playing a similar version of himself. Other casts in the movie include Neil Patrick Harris, Tiffany Haddish, and Ike Barinholtz.

"['Nick Cage'] is an invented version of Nic Cage. The character is feeling unfulfilled and contending with the rejection that can happen so often in the small town that is Hollywood. It's not me. I'm feeling pretty good about things," Cage explained to Entertainment Weekly.

He added that he wasn't enthusiastic about playing himself, but "when Tom sent me this script, Nicky reminded me a little of Jerry Lewis' Buddy Love in The Nutty Professor. I always admired what he did with that movie. For me, Nicky steals the show."

Last year, Cage told Collider that he would never see the film. This was majorly because the Cage in the movie was way different from real-life Cage.

"I said 'Tom, that's not really me. I'm really [made of] quiet, meditative, thoughtful moments. I'm not this neurotic, high-strung, anxiety-ridden guy all the time.' But he said, 'Well, neurotic Cage is the best Cage,'" the actor reminisced. "I said, 'Okay, okay. Let's go, man. I'll do what you want.' I won't see it. But I do hope you enjoy it."
