The pandemic is still going on. COVID-19 continues to strike Hollywood’s A-list in 2022, just as it did in 2020 and 2021. Thankfully, most of these stars have made quick recoveries from their traumatic symptoms and have moved on with their lives.
“Maze Runner” actor Dylan O’Brien now joins the list of Hollywood celebs to have contracted the novel virus. In this month alone, Sarah Snook, Sean Penn, Jessie Cave, and even Barrack Obama all tested positive to Covid in the most surprising way, further proving that having a lot of money is no shield against the virus.
Here is what O’Brien had to say about his ongoing Covid ordeal.
Dylan O’ Brien Cancelled All His Engagements
On March 14, the Teen Wolf alum confirmed on Twitter that he had tested positive for the virus. He claimed that he was perfectly all right, adding that he experienced “minimal symptoms” due to his previous decision to take the vaccine and the booster shots.

He tweeted, “Sobering reminder that we’re still in a pandemic,” adding that he had to cancel the rest of his forthcoming press appearances for “The Outfit” so that he could spend time to recover from the symptoms entirely.
O’Brien used the announcement to serve as a means of sensitizing his fans and the public about the need to protect themselves and follow safety rules, saying, “Be careful and be safe.”
Also, to lighten the seriousness around his current ordeal, the actor joked that he was pleased to have caught the virus at the same time as former U.S president Barrack Obama.
Fans React To Dylan O’ Brien Announcement
Fans of O’Brien dropped several goodwill messages in his comment section, mostly wishing him a quick recovery from the virus.
One fan commented, “Hope it’s nothing, we’re here for u. get well, xx.”
Another follower said, “I’m so sorry to hear that. It really sucks, but I’m glad you’re doing okay. Take care and hoping for the best.”
Many could also relate to the symptom of the virus, having caught Covid in the past. They advised the actor on things to do to aid his recovery process.
One follower said, “Me and some of my family members too had mild symptoms. We followed these and recovered faster: always drink warm (herbal tea helps), don’t eat/drink anything cold until you fully recover, take vitamin C in any form, eat immunity-boosting foods like almond.”
Dylan O’Brien Is Not Returning To ‘Teen Wolf’
O’ Brien Covid’s ordeal comes after he recently revealed his non-feature in Paramount+’s Teen Wolf sequel, which was disclosed in September 2021.
“It was a difficult decision,” he confessed in a recent chat with Variety. “A lot went into it. The show couldn’t be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did, and so many people there are extremely dear to me. It was something I was trying to make work, but it all happened very fast.”
“We didn’t really know that it was happening, and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show,” O’Brien added. “We were trying to figure it out.”
Dylan O’Brien Upcoming Features
While O’ Brien would not be appearing in Paramount+’s Teen Wolf sequel, the actor has his hands full with several projects once he makes a full recovery.
Top of the list is “The Outfit.” The movie has concluded its post-production process and will debut on March 18, 2022. O’Brien, Mark Rylance, Zoey Deutch, and Johnny Flynn will star as the film’s main cast.
O’ Brien is also slated to feature in Hulu’s satirical comedy “Not Okay.” The actor will work with his co-star, Deutch from “The Outfit,” who plays a misguided woman in desperate need of friends.
Additionally, the “Maze Runner” star will appear in “Maximum Truth” and “The Vanishings At Caddo Lake.” Both films are yet to have a release date as per their IMDB page.
