Aaron Carter Says He Can 'Defeat All The Odds' With 'A Good Heart'

Aaron Carter is in good spirits following his split with fiancée Melanie Martin.

The former teen pop sensation, 34, took to Instagram and admitted going through tough times after breaking up with the former bartender, 29, last month. Carter stayed positive despite having a "hard day." He also shared an edited photo of himself that showed the "I Want Candy" hitmaker lounging in bed while wearing a royal blue hoodie and a white beanie from his clothing line.

"Single dad," Carter began.

"Today was a hard day but with good spirit and a good heart, I can defeat all the odds," he continued. "Always remember that. #Blessed."

On February 23, Carter announced his split from Martin on Twitter, just two months after they reconciled from their first breakup. The former couple shares their three-month-old son, Prince Lyric.

"My relationship has come to a point where we have to part ways," Carter wrote in a tweet shared to his now-deactivated account. "Please respect my privacy at this time. Thank you."

Carter also shared his plans to stay single because of trust issues, writing, "I have no intentions on being in any relationship anytime soon. I’m too scarred and I can’t trust any woman. So I’m going to protect my soul and my heart at this time."

When a follower tweeted to him, "I hope you are okay," Carter responded with: "Never better. Especially now."

In a different tweet, Carter noted that his little boy "is my biggest success I love my baby boy and daddy love you."

As reported by The Blast, Carter filed a domestic violence TRO on February 23 at the Antelope Valley Courthouse in LA County. On the same day, he shared a video of himself chasing down his baby mama to allegedly "serve" her documents.

"You’ve been served," he said in the video. "Got her on camera."

Earlier this month, Martin accused Carter of punching her during a recent domestic dispute.

She filed a restraining order in Los Angeles Courts claiming the former couple got into a big fight on February 21, where her ex-fiancé "punched" her on the left side, breaking three ribs, as per legal documents obtained by The Blast.

"We had a fight about me talking to another man while we were broken up," Martin revealed in the legal filing. "He punched me in the left rib and pushed me. I didn’t feel the pain until a few days later, then I left the house because he threaten to give me a restraining order."

Although in a recent post, which has since been deleted, Martin dropped all claims regarding Carter as she blamed her post-partum depression for all that has happened.

"Just wanted to make a statement I’ve had a bad Time with post pardom depression," she started.

"Aaron never hit me / was angry because I made a mistake a bad one. And we were arguing ALOT because he was trying to break up with me for what I did,” Martin continued.

Martin also stressed that Carter "is definitely NOT a drug abuser," adding, "I’ve been a witness to it for two and a half years and their are a lot claims that he is online It’s completely untrue I’ve been here the whole time!!!"
