Lovato has been a fan-favorite celebrity since their days on Disney as a teen star; however, the "Heart Attack" singer won't be gracing NBC's latest show with their presence.

The 29-year-old entertainer was previously announced as the star of the comedy pilot "Hungry," but they relinquished the spot "due to scheduling issues."

Although the "Princess Protection Program" star has bowed out from the project as an actress, they shall continue to be an executive producer for the upcoming series.

As for the "Confident" singer's replacement, the news outlet stated that the show's team was searching for a potential candidate, with the hope of finding one so the pilot could air as scheduled.

NBC initially started the "Hungry" project in April 2021 as a single-camera comedy; however, as more cast members were added during the summer, the show turned into a multi-camera theme under a new director.

The pilot episode would be directed by TV legend James Burrows, while Suzanne Martin wrote and executively produced the NBC comedy.

The other executive producers for the upcoming project include Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, Scott Manson, James Shin, Lovato, and their manager Scooter Braun.

According to the source, the "Hungry" series revolved around a group of friends in a food-issues faction who help each other while searching for love, success, and the perfect meal.

Two months prior, The Blast reported that the "Sorry Not Sorry" songstress had gone to rehab after failing to maintain their "California sober" lifestyle.

The phrase "California sober" was used to describe a form of sobriety, where an individual abstained from drugs with a few exemptions.

At the time, the 29-year-old didn't take any other substance, excluding marijuana and alcohol. However, this proved unhealthy as a source close to the singer revealed that they ended up in Utah for rehabilitation.

The "Charming" star previously overdosed on drugs in 2018, and their abuse of substances has caused them to suffer three strokes and one heart attack.

The Non-binary artist once confessed in a YouTube documentary that their OD ordeal left them with brain damage, and they continued to feel the effects to date.

Naturally, fans sympathized with the Disney alum, but not everyone was on the "CAMP Rock 2" star's side. Lovato's most prominent critic was the reality TV star Lala Kent, who felt offended by their "California sober" lifestyle.

The TV personality explained that people claiming to be "California Sober" were not genuinely abstaining from substance usage, which was offensive to those struggling to abandon drugs. In her words:

"I’ve been in rooms with men and women who have given up everything just to not pick up. You’re not sober if you’re drinking or you’re smoking weed. You are not sober."

The "Sonny With A Chance" Star Shaded Her Ex-Fiance's Bedroom Skills

The Blast previously revealed that the 5-time People's Choice Award winner was not afraid to express their feelings, especially those concerning their ex-fiance.

The "Give Your Heart a Break" musician used to be engaged to Max Ehrich, an up-and-coming actor until their whirlpool romance suddenly ended in 2020.

Two years later, Lovato came for her ex-fiance by dropping a shocking comment under a social media post by Bellesa Co., an adult toy company.

After the business asked their Instagram followers to describe their last relationship in three words, the 14-time Teen Choice Award winner boldly wrote, "My vibrator’s better."

Although this remark seemed like a classic clap-back at their ex-fiance, it should be noted that Bellesa Co. named a vibrator after the non-binary singer.

The "Demi Wand" was introduced in 2021, so this comment may or may not have been a promotional stunt, but many believed it was directed at Ehrich.
