It seems Anna Marie Tendler may be ready to have a child of her own.
The artist first married stand-up comedian John Mulaneyin 2014. However, at the beginning of 2021, John called it quits as soon as he got out of rehab. He reportedly started dating actress Olivia Munn in the spring and they welcomed his first child, Malcolm, in November. The divorce was finalized in January 2022.
Anna Marie Tendler Breaks Silence After Divorce: ‘It Can Only Go Up From Here’
As The Blast previously reported, Anna called the response of watching her ex-husband have a child with another woman before they officially divorced was “surreal.”
“I had a lot of bad days and medium days,” Anna said. “I wouldn’t say I had any good days until the summer.”
“Everything that has transpired has been totally shocking and I think surreal,” she continued. “In a way, I feel like, well, it can only go up from here, because I reached the depth of where I could go.”
The 36-year-old artist also hinted that she was planning on freezing her eggs.
“There were things I never even thought about before because that was just a closed door,” she explained. “So now that it feels like not as much of a closed door, it’s something that I ruminate on a lot.”
She added that she “always [held] partnership above having kids,” saying, “I feel lucky that I get to be standing on the precipice of all of these new things, that I get to possibly experience, and who knows how they will go? And there is certainly something exciting about that.”
Anna Marie Tendler Hints That She’s Started The Process Of Having a Child With Instagram Snap
On March 1, Anna posted a photo on Instagram and disabled the comments. The photo shows Anna standing in front of the camera in a pink bra and blue panties. She has a syringe in one hand and is inserting it into the pinched skin just above her hip.
“Eggs, Over Easy,” she wrote in the caption. Many took this as a sign that she had begun the process of freezing her eggs, but Anna’s Instagram Story gave more questions than answers.
“I would like to clear up a common misnomer about my work – This is not a photo diary, I am never commenting on any one thing, I am rarely posting photos chronologically,” she explained. “I am a fine artist. These are stand alone works that speak to the female experience at large.”
“My life has been filled with a million experiences that are mined to create a body of work that is about something bigger than me,” she continued.
John Mulaney Does Not Mention Anna Marie Tendler In ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue
Over the weekend, John Mulaney hosted “Saturday Night Live” and joined the Five-Timers club, where he talked about a time when he bonded with his new baby in the delivery room with his girlfriend.
However, he did joke about his drug use, breaking up with his drug dealer, and an intervention that was held for him in December 2020, before he went to rehab and ended his marriage in 2021. It is not clear if Anna was present at the intervention.
“For many, many reasons, I’m grateful to be here tonight after a complicated year, it’s wonderful to be in a place that’s always emphasized sobriety and mental health,” Mulaney began. “Since I last hosted, different things have happened.”
“In December of 2020, I went to dinner at a friend’s apartment. But it was not a dinner. It was an intervention. For me. My least favorite kind of intervention,” he joked. “When I walked into my intervention, I knew right away that it was an intervention. Do you know how bad of a drug problem you have to have if when you open a door and see people gathered, your first thought is, ‘This is probably an intervention about my drug problem’?”
“I walk in,” he continued. “There were six of my friends in New York in person and six of my friends over Zoom from L.A. And you may be thinking, hey, if that was me, I would have been like, ‘If you’re so worried about me, how come you didn’t fly in?’ Don’t worry. I said that several times. I rang that bell as often as possible.”
“I went away to a rehab, which was a very good experience,” he continued. “I’m very grateful that I went.”
