Alec Baldwin Joins The Beatles In Paying Tribute To Late George Harrison

Beatles musician George Harrison celebrated his birthday on February 25. Although he has since passed on, many celebrities took to social media in order to pay their respects and remember the talented musician.

On Friday, “30 Rock” actor Alec Baldwin took to Instagram to pay his respects for the late Harrison.

“Happy birthday to George Harrison,” Baldwin began before launching into a story about a time he met the late Beatle.

“Walking along the path from the valet to enter the Bel Air Hotel, out came what I thought was a familiar figure. Hard to tell in the evening light. But as I got closer, it was him,” he wrote. “He turned to his right, head down. I stopped at the T intersection and just stared, my mouth open. I don’t do the fan thing much (Gregory Peck, Kirk Douglas, Paul, Tony Hopkins, HRC) and I just froze.”

“But he turned and faced me and gave me a tough look,” he continued. “One of his bandmates had been killed in 1980. (This was around 92) and by the end of the decade, he would be assaulted/stabbed in his home.”

“I snapped out of it and turned to go into the hotel. How I wish I could have told him that my stance was one of purest appreciation, not meant to harass,” he added. “Since then, I avoid that sort of thing. No matter how great my love of the artist. But I forgive myself. The Beatles had that effect on me.”

On Friday, fellow Beatle Paul McCartney paid tribute to his friend by writing, "So many sweet memories of George" alongside a snap of the pair. Many fans took to the comments section to also wish George a happy birthday.

“George, never forgotten,” one fan wrote.

Another fan called George “the soul of the Beatles.”

John Lennon’s estate also posted several snaps of the former Beatle on Instagram to celebrate his birthday.
