Miss Alabama Zoe Sozo Bethel’s cause of death has finally been revealed.

On February 10, it was reported that Zoe had been involved in an accident and had been hospitalized. Her family announced that the 2021 Miss Alabama had passed away on February 18.

According to the Daily Mail, the beauty queen passed away from head injuries after she attempted to take her life by jumping off a seven-story Miami condo. Zoe stayed in a coma for more than a week after suffering brain injuries before she passed away.

A spokesperson for the Miami Police Department that they suspect that the “accident” she suffered on February 10 was a suspected suicide.

Her family explained the situation in an Instagram post next to a smiling photo of the late model.

“Zoe had an accident Thursday night, February 10th, & sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem & is in a coma,” they explained. “Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left.”

“We are praying for God's will to be done, regardless of what that may look like,” they continued. “This has been an abrupt & very traumatizing situation for our family, & we can imagine how much of a shock this will also be to everyone who knows & cares for her.”

“We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of our family during this time,” they continued. “Keep Zoe & the family in your prayers!”

Family Confirms Zoe Sozo Bethel Passes Away On Instagram

On Monday, Zoe’s family confirmed that she had passed away in an Instagram post that showed a video of Zoe waving a red flag that read “Jesus Is King.”

“On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries,” they began.

“Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations and groups namely, she was the current Miss Alabama (for America Strong), a political commentator for RSBN, a Brand Ambassador for Turning Point USA, and Liberty University's Falkirk Center,” they continued. “She was also a spokeswoman for Students for Life and affiliated with Project Veritas.”

“At this time of bereavement, effectual and fervent prayers are solicited for the family members, and the family asks that their privacy wishes be honored and respected,” they went on. “The family members sincerely appreciate all of the kind words and expressions of love for Zoe.”

Zoe is the second model to pass away this year due to suicide. Cheslie Kryst, the 2019 Miss USA winner, was also a correspondent for “Extra.” Her body was found in front of the 60-story apartment building where she lived in midtown Manhattan. In the beginning of February, autopsy reports listed her official cause of death as suicide.

Hours before her death, Kryst had posted a glowing photograph to Instagram with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Her death has many calling for more discussions on the importance of mental health.
