The first mention of "Downton Abbey" happened in 2010. The show's series was aired and released six seasons between 2010 and 2015 before its feature release in 2019. The show's creator Julian Fellowes talked about the newest movie and how it depicted the world's change in several ways.

He said, "The further the'20s went along, the more the world was changing in so many ways. Everything from entertainment to transport was really different by the end of the '20s. That's what we're referring to in that." The creator didn't shed much light on the anticipated movie, but he did mention it would be a very "feel good" film.
