Nikki Bella Talks Wedding With Artem Chigvintsev And His Health

Nikki Bella's journey down the aisle with her partner of over two years, Artem Chigvintsev, has unfortunately been postponed once more.

The duo was set to have a fairytale wedding in Paris but will have to wait for that to happen due to the health debacle of the husband-to-be.

In a recent interview, the fiancee of the "Dancing With The Stars" pro spoke on his resurfaced case of pneumonia and how that affects their wedding plans.

Bella and Chigvintsev have been looking forward to saying their vows at their dream wedding ceremony in the city of love, but that will have to wait.

On Saturday evening, February 12, while at Culver City's Fanatics Super Bowl Party,  Bella got candid with PEOPLE about her fiance's health condition and how they have put a pin on their wedding for now.

On January 20, Chigvintsev announced he was exiting the "DWTS: Live! Tour" due to some unanticipated health issues, which he later confirmed was pneumonia.

The dancer was touring with his dance partner Kaitlyn Bristowe from the "Bachelorette," who won "DWTS" season 29 by his side. Chigvintsev and Bristowe were joined by Iman Shumpert and the other season 30 contestants.

Bella noted at the event that evening that her partner "still has pneumonia," but she was expecting an update from his doctors by "Monday or Tuesday."

The former WWE wrestler noted that Chigvintsev would be getting another set of tests at the hospital, which would determine whether his condition was improving or not. She explained:

"He'll get his lungs rescanned, and we'll find out if they're better if the swelling goes down. Fingers crossed that the swelling goes down, and we get good news."

Bella's loving twin sister Brie also noted that her sister's partner has constantly been coughing due to his condition and hopes his cough will disappear.

Fans of Chigvintsev were heartbroken when he pulled away from the "Dancing With The Stars" live tour due to his health debacle.

The Blast disclosed that the Mirror Ball winner gave fans a health update on Twitter following his announcement. In the uploaded video, he explained that he discovered his pneumonia resurfaced after an X-ray.

Chigvintsev showed fans his second batch of antibiotics, which he believes would better remove pneumonia from his body. 

The dance icon said, "Hopefully, this one will do the magic, will do the trick, to kick pneumonia out of my lungs. So that's where I'm at."

The SCD winner ended his video with a message of hope that everyone watching stays safe and healthy. He also thanked everyone for their support. 

Many internet users sent their well-wishes to Chigvintsev, while others noted that they had purchased tickets to the live show with the sole intent of watching him perform.

A fan recommended tips for the star to use alongside his pills, writing, “Feel better, Artem. Mullen teas with honey will help clear infection from your lungs. Hope you get some rest.”

Bella and Chigvinstev are proud parents to an adorable son Matteo Artemovich, born on July 31, 2021. As things stand, the loving mother wishes to expand her family in the future.

The Blast revealed last October that the "Total Divas" star told US Weekly in an interview, that she was open to the idea of another baby with her fiancé.

While promoting the return of her and her twin sister's audio show “The Bellas Podcast," the fiancee said, “I would like, if we did have a second, [to have the baby] right at 40 or right before 40.” 

Despite knowing the age she would like to have a child, the mother-of-one noted it would only happen when she and her partner are ready.

Bella explained she enjoyed being the best of friends with Matteo for now, and she is hesitant to raise children to close in age due to watching Brie grow her two children. 

The wife-to-be does not want her second child's needs to come in between her bonding with her son, who still needs a lot of affection. In her words:

“I want this time with just my son… I just don’t want to have another baby interfere with that right now….”
