The "American Idol" Judge Talks Lack Of Invite to Co-Judge's Wedding

When the public got wind that Bryan and Richie did not get an RSVP to Perry's proposed wedding to Bloom, speculations began to spread about the authenticity of their friendship.

The Blast disclosed that Bryan cleared the air on the issue, noting that Perry's statement that she will not be inviting her co-judges was intended in good fun rather than with malicious intent.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the "Country Girl" singer said he did not like the way people took the story, but he found the humor in their misassumptions. He said:

“I didn’t like the way it looked. Lionel and I are pretty confident in Katy, Katy loves us, so I was like, ‘People don’t need to be mean about Katy not inviting us to the wedding!’ People spun it a little bit. It wasn’t awkward; it felt hilarious for me.”

Bryan, who has been married to the love of his life Caroline Boyer since 2006, also advised the soon-to-be spouses on navigating their marriage.

The father-of-two noted that each marriage differs, but one shouldn't go to bed mad at their partner. If they fail to squash things at night, he advised not to let the issue snowball.

Nevertheless, Bryan is confident that Perry and Bloom will excel as husband and wife due to not only their love for each other but their penchant for fun. He explained:

“I know she’s going to be an amazing mom. Her and Orlando, they have a fun relationship, and I think that’s very critical. Keep the relationship fun.”
