The Spinoff Follows Tommy's Move To Chicago

Power Book IV: Force follows Tommy's story as he leaves New York for Chicago to set up his own drug empire after the death of Lakeisha and James Patrick, aka Ghost, his best friend and business partner. The two were killed in the series finale of Power in 2020.

In a recent interview with People, Sikora spoke about the new spinoff and how Tommy is emotionally in the first episode. He said, "He's lost. He lost his brother Ghost. He lost the woman he loves, Holly, and their unborn child. He lost Keisha. His mother is non-existent."

He added that "We've always seen Tommy with something. We've seen what he hates, but also what he loves — and he's lost both. He's lost any connection he's had. Everybody [is] against him, and he's burned a lot of bridges. ... He knows there is no return to New York. He can only go forward."

Sikora Also Spoke About Tommy's Experiences

In another interview with TV Insider, Sikora also spoke about Tommy's experiences as he ventures into a different community in Chicago. He spoke on how events of the last season left Tommy "a shell of a man" and how that damaged emotional and mental state will affect him in various areas of his life.

Sikora said, "We find him at such an interesting place to play that you can't help but find new dimensions to the character. He's a survivor, and he's in survival mode. I think we find Tommy in that situation in the new series."

When asked about the possibility of him finding romance in Chicago, the Ozark actor said, "I think that he still carries this soul of Lakeisha with him, so that's really going to affect his decision-making in terms of females and relationships."
