"Power Book II: Ghost" has proven its ability to deliver the same suspense-filled and intriguing performances as its parents' series. The sequel has revealed so many twists and turns, which made it difficult but fascinating for fans to predict the next move in the life of the key characters.

One familiar thing most viewers of the "Power Book" franchise can recall is the ease with which showrunner Courtney Kemp could write an emotional death scene into the script. Raina, James St. Patrick, and a couple of other characters were killed off in the parent series because of their actions or someone else's baggage.

As such, it is almost inevitable that more characters will be sent to the great beyond as season two of "Power Book II: Ghost" slowly grinds to an end.

Here are four characters that might not continue in the next season.

Dante Mecca Spears

Having watched over 15 episodes of "Power Book II: Ghost," fans already know that Mecca, played by Daniel Sunjata, is one of the main antagonists of the series.

The drug dealer has many tricks in his bag, which he uses in navigating the criminal world. More so, his manipulative and dangerous persona, anchored on nerves of steel, sets him apart from the underlings he ruthlessly controls.

He offered his services to the Tejadas, who needed a new product supplier. Via this opportunity, he gained the trust of Monet Tejada, hiding his ulterior motives and mysterious past from the female drug queen.

The consequences of his actions might be his life. Monet has made a name for herself as a vicious, aggressive lady trying to prove she could run the game. She will not hesitate to put a price on Mecca's head if she finds out his hidden agenda to their relationship.

Lorenzo Tejada Sr.

Lorenzo started the series as a drug lord, locked away for a crime. He left his business to Monet and his sons, Dru and Cane. Although the trio tried their best to maintain the same status quo before Lorenzo's conviction, things went topsy-turvy from time to time.

On several occasions, Lorenzo had to prove from behind the prison walls that he could still pull some strings to steady his boat. While his actions helped course-correct the issues, it strained his relationship with his children and Monet, who was warming their bed with another man.

Following Lorenzo's freedom from jail, the family's relationship has not taken a turn for the better. Also, the street has new players who had grown their territory while Lorenzo was away. It would not be surprising that a spark might ignite a feud, with Lorenzo ultimately ending up with a bullet in his brain.

Dru Tejada

Dru appears to be the cool head out of the Tejada males. His mannerisms clearly show he is not interested in the drug game. However, he understands he could never abandon his family business.

Lorenzo envisions that Dru will take over from him if he eventually dies. As such, he is slowly but surely grooming Dru to handle the ropes, neglecting Cane, who he feels is too hot-headed, impulsive, and would be bad for business.

Lorenzo's decision might later be the downfall for Dru, who is currently overwhelmed by his dalliance with a closeted footballer. His brother Cane may decide to forego the family bond and go for his jugular. Similarly, his outside activities could bring death nearer to his doorsteps.

Monet Stewart Tejada

Monet has tried to be the glue that holds the Tejada family and their business. However, the cracks in her armor are getting bigger with each passing episode, placing her in a risky position.

For one, her strained relationship with her son Cane left her without much protection since he also acted as her right-hand man and protector. Her dalliance with some characters in the series might also blow up in her face following Lorenzo's release from prison.

Whatever the case may be, Monet has been acting out of sorts and has messed up several of the Tejada's transactions. Despite her relevance, it is common knowledge that making mistakes in the drug business is a recipe for death.

Monet must up her game, clean up her mess, and outsmart her detractors if she wants to live another day above the ground.
