Cannon clarified that he and Tiesi had already made baby number eight before his statement, which inspired him to stay off physical intimacy. He said:

"My therapist was one of the [people] who said I should probably be celibate, and the reason why is because I had shared that news about Bre being pregnant. That was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then. So for anyone who's thinking, 'Oh, he wasn't celibate,' I was!"

"The Masked Singer" star admitted to feeling out of control when he first learned that he and Tiesi were expecting.

Cannon credited celibacy for helping him to transcend from not knowing how to "get a grasp" on the situation to getting one with himself and accepting his responsibilities.

Alyssa Scott 'At Peace' Amid "She Ball" Actor's Baby News

Many people have assumed Alyssa Scott's emotions about Cannon's baby announcement after losing their 5-month-old son Zen to cancer in December.

The Blast disclosed that on Monday, January 31, Scott wrote on her Instagram page, "It is painful having my son be apart [sic] of conversations that aren't in alignment with his light and legacy."

The model expressed her desire not to have herself or her son involved in the conversations surrounding the "She Ball" actor and his new baby mama. She then buttressed that:

“It’s important for me to let you all know. I am centered, I am at peace. I look at everyone’s predicament with loving eyes. I will not judge."

Scott ended her graceful statement with acknowledgment of her faith and family helping her through the process, and she mentioned that she "will consciously decide what I will participate in."

A well-wisher commented, "As a mother, I could never imagine! I'm sending you every ounce of love I can possibly! I am sorry the world and media suck and are so disrespectful and not empathetic to your grief that is so fresh at this moment!"
