Award-winning rapper Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, popularly known as Doja Cat, won't perform at the BRITs due to cases of COVID-19 among her crew.
She wrote a brief note on her Instagram story, telling her supportive fans about the unfortunate timing of the spread of the virus within her crew.
Doja Cat Puts Her Health And That Of Her Crew's First
Despite their maximum caution during rehearsals, many members of the singer's crew, both onstage and offstage, tested positive for the virus.
The concerned artiste put the rehearsals on hold to ensure safety, but she promised to perform for her fans in the United Kingdom after caring for her and the crew.
The same incident happened last December, during which the 26-year-old canceled her performance at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball event; a few of her crew members were tested positive for coronavirus.
The Blast reported that she announced her disappointment at not being able to perform, but they all had to follow the proper safety measures to promote the wellbeing of the crew.
The rapper wrote, "For the health and wellbeing of the rest of our crew, we are following all the appropriate safety measurements and necessary precautions."
She continued, "Which means I won't be able to perform at iHeartRadio's New York Z100 and Boston KISS FM Jingle Ball. I'm extremely disappointed."
Doja Cat concluded with a message of love to her adoring fans. Her fans showed love and wished her crew members a speedy recovery with the hope of seeing her soon.
The pandemic caused many cancellations for the "Say So" singer, including her second tour set that was meant to boost her second studio album, "Hot Pink."
In an announcement Doja Cat made in February 2020, the tour was set for March, but it got canceled later that month due to the pandemic.
She revealed that even with her excitement for her biggest tour, she had to postpone all dates on tour to avoid any COVID-19 related risks.
It was pretty sad to hear as the pop singer invested a lot of her time into rehearsing the new songs and dance steps that would have provided the best show to her fans.
The 26-Year-Old Songwriter Contracts Coronavirus, Cancels Event
Canceling her performances for the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2021 wasn't totally because her crew members contracted coronavirus, as the star also tested positive.
She revealed in a message that she was sad and her spirits were down since she wouldn't be celebrating with her fans in Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Miami.
In a report by The Blast, the American record producer looked forward to getting better and going out there as soon as she could. Her fans showed support and prayed for her health.
She got tons of 'get well soon' messages while one fan exclaimed about her being the only one worth seeing at the Jingle Ball event.
The "So High" singer wasn't the only one who canceled her performance at the event; Dua Lipa also did. The British singer suffered from laryngitis and was on vocal rest for the period.
Like Doja Cat, Dua Lipa looked forward to her performance and was highly disappointed at not being there due to her slow recovery.

The "Need To Know" Singer Posts Throwback Photos Post-COVID-19 Positive Test
Two weeks after Doja Cat revealed she was infected with the virus, she shared a throwback snap of herself wearing a Pikachu bikini top and rocking her natural locks.
The swimwear looked small for the pop songstress as the top consisted of two small triangle cups held by thin strings. Although it covered the essential parts, viewers still got to see her enticing cleavage.
The Blast's previous report showed that she laid on her back as she captured her pose. It was a blurry snap, and her eyes were closed while her mouth was open.
To complete her Pikachu ensemble, she wore a Pikachu headpiece, just like the fictional character itself. Her beautiful locks were also on full display in the photo.
The throwback selfie got quite the reaction from her millions of fans. She got more than 3,000,000 likes and over 24,000 comments in less than 24 hours.
Many were taken with her hair and remarked on how awesome she looked with natural hair. A few also commented on her cute Pikachu outfit with a flood of emojis.
