Doja Cat tested positive for COVID-19.
The 26-year-old singer has canceled all of her upcoming performances for the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2021. She took to Instagram and announced that she contracted COVID-19, along with her other team members.
Bearing Bad News
The “Say So” songstress shared an image that contained her message.
“As most of you probably hear earlier, a few members on my production team tested positive for Covid 19 and I had to cancel a couple of my upcoming performances as a safety precaution,” Doja wrote.
She continued, “Unfortunately, I’m sad to share that I just tested positive as well and will no longer be able to perform on the rest of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. While my spirits are down since I can’t be there to celebrate with my fans in Philly, DC, Atlanta and Miami, I’m doing ok and look forward to recovering and getting back out there as soon as I can! The rest of the tour stops have some really great lineups, wish I could be there.”

On Friday, Doja shared the news on social media that she won’t be pushing through with her shows this month in New York and Boston as some of her crew tested positive for coronavirus.
“We recently learned that a few members on my production team have tested positive for Covid 19 and are now on quarantine,” the rapper wrote.
Doja added, “For the health and wellbeing of the rest of our crew, we are following all the appropriate safety measurements and necessary precautions, which means I won’t be able to perform at iHeartRadio’s New York Z100 and Boston KISS FM Jingle Ball. I’m extremely disappointed, Jingle Ball has a great line up for you all, wish I could be there.”
Canceled Tour Dates
Since the pandemic started last year, Doja has canceled many of her shows. She had to postpone her second concert tour.
In February 2020, Doja announced her Hot Pink tour, which was set to begin a month later that year. However, it was officially canceled on March 16 due to restrictions imposed for the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, Doja shared an update:
“Over the last few weeks I’ve been extremely excited about my upcoming tour since it’s my biggest to date. I’ve spent a lot of time rehearsing all of the new music and choreography to perform your favorite tracks from Hot Pink and to give you, my fans, the best show. Due to the coronavirus and all of the risk associated, we have to postpone all dates on the tour.”
Another Singer Backed Out
As reported by The Blast, Doja is not the only performer who backed out of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2021. Dua Lipa also had to cancel her shows.
“As most of you know I’m currently suffering laryngitis and have been on vocal rest per my doctor’s orders,” the 26-year-old singer wrote in a post. I was hoping for a faster recovery, but unfortunately, I’m still under the weather and unable to perform at the iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball. I’m extremely disappointed, I was really looking forward to kicking off the holiday season performing at this year’s Jingle Ball.”
