"Talking Dead" host and pop culture connoisseur Chris Hardwick and his wife, model and actor Lydia Hearst, welcomed their first child on Saturday night. Dimity Facente Hearst-Hardwick was born a few weeks early after doctors determined she was ready to make an early entrance into the world.

Proud Papa Hardwick shared a picture of the newborn baby girl from the delivery room as Hearst looked on lovingly (and tiredly) from the operating table.

“Lyds loved this picture so much she requested I post it to let everyone know that she and baby are doing great!” he wrote.

Chris Hardwick Calls Birth ‘Humbling and Inspiring’

Hardwick has nothing but awe and praise for his wife after her pregnancy journey. “The experience of watching Lydia go through pregnancy and give birth to our sweet little peanut was humbling and inspiring. She is an absolute warrior and I am grateful, blessed, and honored! The first moment seeing and hearing our child after all this time is indelibly imprinted onto my soul. Holy crap this whole process is amazing!”

He went on to say that Baby Dimity was supposed to be delivered via c-section on February 9, but the baby had other ideas. “The baby’s development had plateaued, the placenta had hardened, her fluid reserves were low, and she was breech so they took her out a wee bit early at just over 37 weeks.”

Despite the baby’s early arrival, all’s well that ends well. “Lyds is happy, Dimity is perfect and I am over the moon with love for the both of them,” he added.
