Chrissy Teigen is showing off a new shiner… kind of.
The “Cravings” author took to Instagram on Thursday, January 27, to show off a new “no-makeup makeup” look.
Needless to say, at first glance it was alarming to see.
Chrissy debuted one black eye and one normal eye; however, this was really an optical illusion.

You see, the black eye was done with the help of makeup.
And it wasn’t made to actually look like a bruised black eye, it is meant to look like a dark smokey eye, but some fans flipped out.
One panicked fan wrote, “Girl I thought you had a black eye 😯 my b.”
Another wrote, “At first look I thought you had a black eye! 😂😂❤️.”
“I genuinely thought she had a black eye lol,” and “I didn’t have my glasses on and thought at first somebody gave you a black eye 😂,” others chimed in.
Chrissy’s Fan SHOCKED By Black Eye
Clearly, it was just makeup and others caught on to the gist of what Chrissy was showing off.
Many were fans of her no-makeup look.
“I’m SHOOK at how symmetrical your face is!!!” one complimenting fan replied.
“Safe to say you don’t need foundation whatsoever,” another person wrote.
Clearly, the jury isn’t out on this one. Chrissy is beautiful with or without makeup.
The former “Lip-Sync Battle” co-host recently celebrated six months of sobriety and opened up about how her life has changed for the better.
On January 19, she took to Instagram to celebrate half-year milestone.

She wrote, “6 months no alcohol! Honestly kind of sucks saying it because even though I don’t ever crave it now, time has not exactly flown by haha. I prob won’t be excited til a larger milestone like at leasssst 5 years, and sometimes I don’t even know if I necessarily won’t ever drink again? I have no idea what I’m doing honestly, but I do know a few things: I now have endless energy, way less anxiety (no more benzos!) and I am *happier* and more present than ever. It’s pretty cool. I look forward to having my full body reset after 1 year, then reevaluating to see my new hopes and wishes for the future! Let’s goooo.”
Pop star Katy perry commented, “Beautiful ❤️.”
Brooklyn Decker replied, “Tough as nails, my friend ❤️,” and Octavia Spencer cheered Chrissy on writing, “6 months is something to celebrate. You hit a rough spot in the road and changed your tires. Now you’re enjoying the ride. That’s something the celebrate. ❤️”
Chrissy’s bestie and hair stylist, Jen Atkin, wrote, “I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE PROUD. You deserve all the energy and good feels ❤️❤️❤️.”
As you can see from just these four comments out of thousands upon thousands she got, there was a lot of love getting sent Chrissy’s way.
The mother-of-two recently posted about alcohol on her Instagram Story.
On January 27, she reposted a message from Jean Kilbourne which stated, “The alcohol industry says they want people to drink responsibly but they do not define what ‘drinking responsibly’ means. ‘Responsible drinking’ would actually destroy the alcohol industry. If every adult in America drank according to the American Federal guidelines for low-risk drinking – no more than 1 drink per day for a woman, no more than 2 drinks for a man – alcohol industry sales would be cut by 80%.”
Chrissy has been open about her sobriety journey and admitted she fell off the wagon early on.
Back in September, the TV personality celebrated her first 50-day streak without alcohol, but admitted she had a few “hiccups” along the way.
“Today is my 50-day sobriety streak! it should be nearly a year but I had a few (wine) hiccups in the road. this is my longest streak yet! I still dunno if I’ll never drink again but I do know it no longer serves me in ANY way. I don’t get more fun, I don’t dance, I don’t get relaxed. I get sick, fall asleep, and wake up sick, having missed what was probably a fun night,” Chrissy began.
She continued, “I had my fun with it and appreciate anyone that can enjoy it responsibly!!!! this is also my third day this week working out which is unheard of for me, and my bears are not making it easy but loving.”
Back in December of 2020, Chrissy revealed she had been sober for a least a month, and claimed she was slowing down on the booze because she was done “embarrassing” herself. At the time, she also said the drinking had caused the negative side effect of not being able to sleep.
