The Internet has been reeling ever since Damon Albarn accused Taylor Swift of not writing her own songs.

Albarn criticized the “All Too Well” singer in a new interview with The Los Angeles Times while promoting his new album “The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows.” In the interview, he countered the statement that Swift was an “excellent songwriter.”

“That doesn’t count,” he said. “I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different to writing.”

“I’m not hating on anybody, I’m just saying there’s a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes,” he added. “Doesn’t mean that the outcome can’t be really great.”

Shortly after the interview went public, Taylor Swift retweeted the article with her own comments.

“@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this,” she wrote. “I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really f—ed up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.”

She followed it up by writing, “PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering.”
