Peter Dante is being sued by an elderly man who claims the actor assaulted him and hurled Anti-Semitic threats at him while dining inside an L.A. restaurant.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, a person named Scott Burns claims the actor became “extremely agitated” after passing each other on the way into Lares Restaurant in Santa Monica, CA. During the altercation, Burns claims Dante hurled anti-semitic remarks about his appearance while threatening him. He claims Peter was “visibly intoxicated” and had “margaritas around his table.”
In the lawsuit, Burns alleges Dante started questioning him in a “menacing tone” and humiliating him in front of the staff calling him a “sissy.”
Peter Dante Accused Of Anti-Semitic Threats To Elderly Man In Los Angeles
According to the filing, Burns claims he expressed to Dante he did not want to fight him, considering his age and the fact that he was suffering from heart disease. But, he says Dante started attempting to incite a physical altercation by referring to his “Jew nose” and commenting that he was wearing slippers and was an “old Jew.”
At this point, the lawsuit states Dante approached the person’s table and appeared to be preparing to physically “attack him.” Burns says he informed a waitress he was leaving, and Dante yelled, “See sissy running away!” Plus, he says Peter “began chasing him around a large rectangular table in the center of the small intimate section of the restaurant.”
The police were called to the scene, and Burns says he told officers he “felt trapped in a very small space being chased by [Dante]” and “requested the operator stay on the phone with him as he waited because he feared for his safety.”

In the lawsuit, Burns’ lawyer Nadine Lewis, writes the owner’s daughter approached the scene hoping to break up the altercation and after attempting to eject Dante from the premises, he became extremely defensive “swatting her hands down.” She allegedly yelled, “Pay your bill and get out! You’re out of here!”
Scott Burns is suing Peter Dante for assault, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress — saying he, “feared for his safety due to [Dante’s] insults, disparaging comments about his age, appearance, and masculinity, antisemitic comments, and physical threats.” Adding, he was “humiliated, his reputation was damaged, and he continues to have distressing nightmares and apprehension in public places, especially his favorite spot, Lares.”
Peter Dante Well-Known For His Appearances In Adam Sandler Movies
The plaintiff, in this case, points out he has many business meetings with clients and other professional personnel at Lares. He is “well-known” at Lares and is a request guest here he often networks for business purposes. The “antisemitic statements combined with the disparaging statements which mocked both his appearance and inflect exposed him to ridicule, contempt, and shame.”
Peter Dante, who is known for his regular appearances in Adam Sandler movies, is being sued for $250,000.
As you know, this is the second time in a matter of weeks that Dante made headlines for his behavior at Los Angeles restaurants.
Earlier this month, the actor was caught on tape berating the host of a Korean BBQ restaurant, saying, “Go back to the, f–k, you go back to school. Where’s your boss? Yeah, where’s your boss?” The argument apparently was over wearing a mask while entering the establishment.
The case is ongoing.
