Mr. Big is gone and never to return to the “Sex and the City” franchise. Amid Chris Noth‘s sexual assault scandal, his beloved character was cut off from the season 1 finale of the HBO Max revival, “And Just Like That.”
Warning! Spoilers ahead for And Just Like That Finale
Chris Noth Removed From Season Finale Footage
According to TV Line, ahead of the season finale of “And Just Like That,” which is set to air on February 3, the season finale footage was edited to cut out a scene of Noth’s Mr. Big.
As you might know, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) said goodbye to her one true love in the season premiere after Mr. Big dropped dead from a heart attack. Now, in the season finale, Bradshaw hopes to find closure and move on.
In the final episode, Bradshaw heads to Paris’ Pont des Arts bridge over the Seine river to scatter Big’s ashes. Die-hard fans of “SATC” know that bridge was a sentimental place to Bradshaw and Big.
While at the bridge, Bradshaw will have a fantasy-like moment when Mr. Big appears to her. However, that scene has now been cut off.
The creative team reportedly noted that the reason for scrapping the footage was because Noth’s scene was not integral to the storyline of Bradshaw finding closure and spreading her late lover’s ashes. They didn’t relate it to Noth’s ongoing sexual assault controversy.
Nevertheless, the timing of the cut scene doesn’t seem coincidental, as it comes three weeks after Noth became embroiled in a web of sexual abuse allegations that have since affected his career.
Noth Was Dropped By His Agency And Fired From A Show
On December 16, two women came forward in a THR column, alleging Noth raped them. The women claimed that the Hollywood star abused them during different timelines, 2004 ad 2015. At the time, Noth vehemently denied the accusations.
The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual…
However, that didn’t stop more women from coming out with their stories. As of this writing, about five women have spoken up about the actor and recounted heartbreaking experiences with him.
Noth’s career has since spiraled down. First, his famous Peloton advert with Ryan Reynolds was removed from the air. Then he was dropped from his talent agency and fired from the CBS show, “The Equalizer.”
His Marriage Is Hanging By The Thread
Noth’s personal life has also been deeply affected by the accusations. The actor, who has been married to his wife Tara Wilson for eight years, faces serious marital problems.
Wilson, who was clueless about the accusations, has been spotted without her wedding ring and is focusing on their two kids. It’s unsure where Wilson stands in the matter, but many believe the allegations may signify the end of their marriage.
