In the event you thought the Gabby Petito/Brian Laundrie case was over and done with, think again.
And if you thought things couldn’t get more confusing and convoluted, you’re wrong.
Gabby was strangled to death and human remains were discovered at a Wyoming National Park on September 19. The remains were identified as Gabby’s on September 21.
Her official date of death has not been determined, but the Wyoming county coroner who ruled Gabby Petito's death a homicide said the 22-year-old woman likely died three to four weeks before her body was found in mid-September.

Brian went missing in early September, and his parents officially reported him missing on September 17 after he went for a hike in a nature reserve close to his parent’s North Port, FL. Home.
When Laundrie was first publicly declared a missing person, police said his parents had last seen him leave home to go hiking in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port on Sept. 14.
Their attorney, Steven Bertolino, then went on record saying he left home to go hiking on Monday, September 13.
His remains were found and later identified via dental records on October 21.

Now, here’s where it gets messy.
According to the website, findagrave.com, Brian’s date of death is listed as September 8, which would mean he died before Gabby’s body was found AND before he left for the hike.
The website also says his remains will be cremated and returned to his family.

Many people on Twitter sounded off, many confused, about how the website came up with September 8 as his official date of death.
Twitter account @ju3ticeforgabby tweeted a screenshot of the findagrave.com listing and wrote, “#BrianLaundrie died 8 of September im confused….”
One person responded, “He didn’t go missing until 9/13 though… so he was a zombie until then? Why haven’t his parents been arrested yet?”
Another person explained that findagrave.com allows anyone to edit posts, much like Wikipedia.

“Anyone can post to find a grave, and I don't think they gave an estimated time of death for Laundrie and death certificates would most likely list the date found as time of death, I think,” they responded.
Many others theorized that Brian died at the hands of his parents.
While his official date of death may never be known, fans will get a look into the couple’s relationship and subsequent deaths in the new Peacock documentary, “The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Media.”
The documentary premieres on the streaming platform on December 17.
