Brian’s Body Found!
His remains were found about 40-minutes into the swampy marsh.
“Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the remains found yesterday in the reserve are indeed Brian’s,” Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino told Insider. “We have no further comment at this time and we ask that you respect the Laundrie’s privacy at this time.”
Yesterday, The Blast reported the remains were reportedly were found at a site being searched by a cadaver dog within the park. This particular area was previously underwater, which could mean the body was submerged before being discovered.
Brian left his parent’s house on September 13 to take a walk in the environmental park, but went missing soon after.
His parents filed a missing persons report on September 17.
Brian and Gabby
On Tuesday, October 19, Brian’s parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, informed the FBI and North Port Police that they planned to go to the environmental park the next day. They were going to look at the same location where the family’s silver Mustang was abandoned in mid-September, according to Bertolino.
On Wednesday, October 20, his parents discovered a backpack and notebook belonging to their son.
Bertolino confirmed that items belonging to their son were found after a “brief search.”
Brian went missing in early September and remained the only person of interest in the homicide of Gabby Petito.
