The comedian joked that he must attend the event to assist Kevin Hart into his seat and give a nervous Jay-Z emotional support to handle being a record-breaking Grammy nominee.

Jay-Z Holds Record as The Highest Grammy Awards Nominee

Jay-Z was tied with Quincy Jones as the highest nominee for the Grammy Awards with an impressive 80 votes. The rapper now holds the title alone with his latest 2022 nominations.

Per Variety, the "Run This Town" artist has three nominations for the 2022 Awards show, placing him at a record-breaking 83 votes.

In 1999, Jay-Z  achieved his first Recording Academy recognition with three nominations: one for his collaboration with Jermaine Dupri in "Money Ain't a Thang" and two for his album "Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life."

The "Empire State of Mind" artist won but boycotted the ceremony owing to a lack of nominations for late fellow rapper DMX.

Jay-Z, who clocks 52 on December 4, has been nominated in a whopping 18 of the 22 Grammy years. He took home three wins in 2009, 2010, 2012, respectively.
