Katherine Heigl and her family are celebrating National Adoption Month!
This event is quite special to the family as “The Ugly Truth” actress and her husband Josh Kelley are the proud parents of two beautiful adopted daughters.
The former fashion model marked the occasion with precious family pictures on Instagram alongside a heartfelt message on the importance of adoption.
The “27 Dresses” Star Promotes Adoption With A Touching Message
The executive producer and star of Netflix’s “Firefly Lane” uploaded two pictures to commemorate National Adoption Month. The first slide was a stunning image of the actress’s happy family.
The photo captured the Hollywood sensation’s husband wearing a matching smile with their three children — son Joshua Bishop and daughters Naleigh Mi-Eun and Adalaide.
This heartwarming post was captioned with a brief introduction about the occasion as the mother-of-three wrote:
“November was National Adoption Month. A month to celebrate all adoptive families, and to recognize the need for forever homes for children in foster care.”
The “Knocked Up” star continued by sharing that “122,000 children and youth” were currently stuck in the foster care system across the country, waiting for loving parents.
This was a cause for concern as “1 in 5” of the youths in foster care were teenagers in danger of aging out of the system and ending up on the streets.
With no parental guidance, these children were at risk of becoming homeless or used for human trafficking. To avoid such a cruel fate, Heigl implored fans to donate to Raise The Future Foundation by writing:
“As November ends, please join me in helping to support youth in foster care by making a contribution today at raisethefuture.org”

The proud mother-of-three shared a series of adorable throwback pictures of the 13-year-old girl throughout the years, including precious baby photos.
The waterworks began with the “Killers” actress’s caption, which revealed that the first two baby pictures of Naleigh were sent to the couple from the adoption agency in South Korea.
Reminiscing how adopting the infant changed her world, the 43-year-old stated that the little bundle of joy gave her life purpose and taught her the wonders of motherhood.
The former model expressed her profound gratitude for the amazing memories Naleigh had given her and concluded the beautiful caption with a declaration of her love for the teenager.
The Emmy Winner Left “Grey’s Anatomy” For Her Family
In September, The Blast revealed that Heigl had opened up about her departure from the famous ABC drama series, “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2010.
The “Home Sweet Hell” star was an original cast member of the renowned medical series for five years, but she abruptly ended her contract with the showrunners.
After much speculation as to why the actress left, the blonde beauty finally cleared the air during an interview with The Daily Telegraph.
The “Jenny’s Wedding” star confessed that she had just started growing her family and could no longer prioritize working full time over spending time with her precious children.
