Katherine Heigl is more metal now than she has ever been!

The "Firefly Lane" star revealed that she underwent surgery to have two titanium plates put in her neck on Wednesday, March 17. The 42-year-old actress shared photos after the procedure and announced that she is now "bionic." Heigl let fans know that she suffered from an "excruciating" herniated disk last week, but now she is on the mend and has a good sense of humor about the whole thing! Scroll down to see her photos!

"Well...I am now bionic!!" she jokingly captioned her post. "Two titanium disk[s] now inhabit my neck and I can probably stand on my head for like hours...I’m not gonna try it just yet but give me a few months and I’ll blow your mind!!"

Katherine and her husband, Josh Kelley, made their first trip to Los Angeles from their Utah home since the pandemic to seek expert medical help. "I am so deeply deeply grateful to the incredible Dr’s and care team that saved me from the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced and blessed me with a new pain free lease on life!" Heigl continued, "Thank you for your tremendous talent and expertise and for saving my neck! @cedarssinai in Marina del ray thank you for your incredible and compassionate care and attention! Heading into surgery and hospital stays is always a bit scary and you guys could not have made me feel more comfortable or taken care of! Thank you thank you thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️"

She ended her message by wishing her followers a "HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY! Clearly I’ve been blessed with the luck of the Irish today! ☘️"

The actress also thanked her amazing husband for supporting her and providing some much-needed comic relief during the surgery experience. She shared a funny video of Josh playing doctor while looking at some X-Rays (seen below). "This is definitely the guy you want by your side during a health crisis," she wrote on Instagram. "Though...I don’t think I’d bring him to the OB with me. Those jokes would just be too far."
